I'll gladly take all of your hams and distribute them evenly to my belly. They'll go nicely with my unemployment and food stamps this holiday season.

Anybody doing any NRSA travel while on furlough? I've been traveling around the country looking for jobs at Disney and Sea World. You know, all the places a pilot would normally "look for a job". I wonder if the Wal-Mart on Nantucket is hiring this time of year?

I didn't think the company was going to do the honey baked ham this year? I could be wrong but I thought a memo came out after the holidays last year stating that. Or maybe it was around the time the pay to play holiday party was canceled.

Oh yeah! thanks Comair for making sure I never get a friggin COLA. For November it wasn't offered to 70 FO's. For December it won't be offered to 50 FO's.

Someone other then Cessna please tell me why!

There is no COLA being offered due to the new COLA sheriff...Comair got some pointers from the APU sheriff in JFK via walkie talkie, and decided not to offer it....

The last few Captains I flew with actually take that APU Sheriff crap pretty seriously and I'm getting sick of it. I didn't read the whole memo, but I guess it has to do with not using the APU or something. I usually start start the APU after landing which most of the time is followed by a short lecture about "I don't want the APU Sheriff to catch me", "It's cool outside, so no need for APU", "They can get ground power and air", blah blah... Just because it is cool outside doesn't mean it is cool in the cabin, people want some sort of airflow back there!! I always put myself in the pax shoes pretending I'm sitting back there deadheading and how I would feel. Also, I think you will burn more fuel leaving the engine running at the gate while waiting for ground power. And forget about getting air. We are not mainline! I already got a preview of the winter season, people flying PPAS with 100+ kt. headwinds. Better start increasing the block hour even more Comair! Some of these 25+ year Captains want to make money!

Just wait til your back in the 50 with the engines that put out NO air on the ground. I can't tell you how many miserable times non-reving this summer where the crew didn't start the APU on the ground at the destination and allowed us to sit in the stifling cabin.

I've had plenty of deadheads this summer and just recently and won't forget how uncomfortable it can get back there with no air. Just sitting in those old piece of crap seats was bad enough. I had a DH just the other day and I knew it was going to be a long and uncomfortable flight when I glanced in the cockpit with the APU shut down and the PPAS book ready to go.

I had a pax b!tch at me with a few F words last night when we got into CVG late and he missed his connection. Sorry dude, can't help it coming out of JFK with a scheduled 20 minute turn to go on to CVG, which delayed another flight because this company won't switch airplanes even though there are 5 others sitting at the gate unused. I don't make up the schedule. Have a Delta Day!
