Anyone have any idea how many Mesaba plans to hire, and how many they have already hired?

Last year between April and December a little over 400 started class and this year up until September it was slow, so year to date looking at the seniority list it's running close to 200. This doesn't include people that have quit or been fired or washed out of training (very few). Just what I've counted on the latest seniority list from 10/21.

There are classes still running every two weeks until the end of March of 2009. Some weeks there are 2 classes, some just 1, depending on if there is a -200 class running or not. Interviews continue 3 times a week for the foreseeable future and numbers for next year are floating around the 300-500 new hire mark.

If you're interested, apply. HR is getting tons of apps each week and with only up to 24 people interviewing a week (up to 8 a day) you can see how competitive it is. Good luck to you all at Comair.

I'd like to apply at Compass I think. But according to this website, they are not hiring. Or if they still are, I think they are almost done hiring for the year. Might be at the bottom and on reserve for a while. The other drawback is flowbacks, but I think in the long run it would be worth it of you're young.

Well guys and gals it's been real...just got RL, time to head home and start the next step. Good luck to all whether you move on or stick around! Hopefully things do turn around for the best at Comair.

Default Will Comair really do something this stupid?

If p1ayn's numbers are correct then the additional furloughs should take care of most of the 2007 hires....

So will Comair really have me go through transition training to go back to the 50 just to furlough me 4-6 weeks after that?

I just put the revision on top and gave it to them. I hope nobody took the time to do it. I love that the last thing I did at Comair was sit ready. Supposedly somebody wasn't too nice to the intern when they were escorted out.

Are you guys required to turn in your Jepps? If so, don't give them your binders and just unclip and dump into a plastic bag.
