Comair updates?

I just got a warm fuzzy feeling in my mailbox:
Fellow Pilots:
It is with great disappointment that I must announce the recent news that I’ve learned. According to company officials, Comair will be furloughing more than the 206 brothers and sisters who have been placed on furlough as of today. While no satisfactory explanation has been offered for these furloughs, the company has shared that Comair will not be taking possession of its 14th CRJ-900 aircraft, as originally planned...

Such a quick change from this summer. When I got a training class, everyone was looking forward to the opportunities the 250-400 new hires (depends who you believed) were supposedly going to bring. Couple of weeks later, they halted training classes, started talking about furloughs, and now it appears even more furloughs are coming. What a sad, strange story. I had known the airline industry was cyclical and could change rather quickly but I think the folks in Comair Mgmnt must have been shrooming pretty hard for things to turn around so quickly.

Does anyone have any firm numbers on furloughs? If it's just 1 aircraft plus attricition I'm guessing it won't be a huge amount. I don't know that it's the end but Im comming up with a backup.
Ps anyone want to go fly in Nigeria with me if this mo-Fo tanks

Well after reading the attachment I'm not sure what more the MEC can do. If DS says no, and glamour shots backs him up, then there isn't anywhere to go.
But to answer your question you can't vote directly for the MEC. The LEC votes on the MEC. So either the LEC has to make a change or you can try to vote out the LEC.
my .02,
It doesn't matter who we have in the LEC or MEC when it comes to the management of this airline. I saw 3 proposals that would have mitigates some furloughs. Early outs, extended colas, and voluntary furloughs. But management said no to all of the above.
Believe me brother, the difference between 76 hours or 80+ hours wont save you or me from the axe.
