One thing I've noticed is that the more senior guys have no clue how to use it. I still see some of them use SBS, which I was surprised that it was still working.

Do as you wish, but ALPA never endoresed Emaestro therefor you are not required to use it. There are many bugs in the system that ALPA warned management about and they put it out anyway. Appearently it isn't actually keeping log of your flights and legality.

There are also safety issues with this new program. The Captain is held accountable for his crew and his craft, however now has no means of researching his crew before hand. Some Captains really want to know if they are going to be given a FA or an FO that has had minimal rest on reserve and that could possibly be fatigued.

Don't use it to check in. Simply call crew scheduling and flood them with calls to check in. Yes, you may hold for a few minutes, but possibly they will yank this thing and make it fulling functional before they preach it's greatness.

Also to reserve guys, be careful of clicking that acknowledge button the night before a reserve window. If you click it the night before, your duty day then doesn't start until you check in that day. However, if you wait for them to page you at least your duty clock starts earlier. I have talked to a few guys already that wound up with 12.5 hours on the clock from check in yesterday on the A4 window. There day could have been much shorter had they not clicked scheduling's magic button.

Thats not entirely true. You can bring up a fellow crewmember's trip and see where they are inbound from, ETA, etc.

And, concerning the rest issue.... If the capt doesn't want to look up the other crewmembers trip, or jsut doesn't know how because he hasn't used the system, they could just ask. A person could be tired after just 1 flight. I didn't land last night until 230am after a 12.5 hour duty day, and I still was wide awake. Asking would sure do the trick.

Where on Maestro and how do you bring up someone elses line? Not on SBS?

I suppose you have a valid point. You can ask. I guess now a more detailed briefing may be required. (Have you flown in the past 30 days, Vacation, sick, etc? Have they been using you a lot on reserve?

Or how about newhire FO's that really aren't sure if they are given a legal assignment? For all they know, they are legal because scheduling gave it to them. However they are 3 weeks off of IOE and aren't up to par on the contract.

Here are some things I'd like to see fixed on eMaestro:

-Be able to look at other crew members lines.
-See your crew your flying with.
-Correct N-Numbers/Tail numbers.
-Get rid of the "Acknowledge" button when there are no new schedules changes.
-Correct Credit/Block times.

PS: How do you pick up/request a trip from Open Time? I don't see a button for that?!? Also, I still think they are hiding trips from Open time.

You cannot bring up someone else's line. You can only view their current trip:
Load your current trip
Click on the flight number you're interested in
Below the times section in the "Crew on flight" section click on the crewmember's trip number/date

Okay, so here's a question for you guys. Who are we contacting when we find a problem with Maestro. On Friday's reserve availablilty report it shows that I am on a trip, but on my calendar it shows that I just have my reserve window.
I called scheduling and they are unable to see what we see since they have a different interface. They agreed that I'm definitely in my window.
But who, if anyone, do we report these bugs to?

How come on the new departures out of CVG there's a note that says "Transponder code will be issued via PDC or Cincinnati Clearance Delivery"? Well duh!
