If it happened a year ago he's probably a Captain at Mesaba by now. Comair did him a favor.

If I had the smarts to put my wife first and Comair second, I don't think I'd still be here either.

Besides, his decision saved someone from getting furloughed.

I had the great pleasure of flying with one of the chiefs when I was just out of IOE. Guess he was getting his currency. Anyway, he shared this story with me as he was, I guess, trying to scare me about something or whatever. Mold the new guy I guess. He said this guy had 17 sick calls during the past year. This is why the company denied his PL and when he called in sick he was fired.

True, but there was alot more to that story than we know. Like most stories we hear that are unbelievable, that's because a lot is left out

Just got a memo today saying that were closing LEX's maintenance base. DAY is in the process od closing. MX is starting to feel the hurt as well. They've been cutting us non union employees back since last December. I think they're running out of non union mx employees to cut. I see the IAM being put on notice to furlough here soon within the next month or two.

If it was up to Dan Ford, Delta would have no scope and Comair would fly 777's. He sued Alpa, because he believed scope was predatory and limited the regional pilots(he needs to get the fact that we are a contractor and nothing more).

If you want to fly a mainline plane, apply to mainline. He doesn't want to start at the bottom of a mainline list again. Hence the lawsuit.

I want a flow-through(like mesaba's), I'm thinking of trying to run for a union position and see if we can make it happen

Question for those have been around awhile. If we wait for the elections, the problem is we don't vote for the MEC, the reps do. Now all the reps I know are outstanding guys, but do we know what pressures they endure to vote a certain way? I'm not faulting them, but it's human nature. How many politicians constantly vote against their constituancy because their party pressures them to vote a certain way? Look at Lieberman for example; he stepped away from his party to support McCain which took alot of moxie. Now, he is being ostrasized by the democratic party. Will our reps vote the way the pilots want, or will they take the MEC line, because we (as pilots) don't know everything? How do we know who will do what? Thank heaven for the reps, they truly give of themselves for us on a daily basis. I just don't know the answer to this.

Dude! are you stupid or are you high? The next time there could be any flow through will be in about 2025!!!! The only thing that will happen between now and then will be Delta pilots flushing back and flying RJ's that you are flying right now. And to boot They will probably fly them for a heck of a lot more money then you are getting! GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ***!

Haven't you been at Comair long enough yet to get rid of Shiny jet syndrome? You will not get to fly a Delta jet whether or not they have a flow through!

So did you just pull 2025 out of your ***? considering there is talk about DL hiring next year due to growing international flying, NWA pilots retiring (thay have a far older workforce than DL), and the DL work rules require more pilots than the NWA contract did.

The Mesaba flowthrough states only as many that flow up can flown down. So there won't be a flush as you say.

A flow through like this could help people move up and out, increase attrition, lower upgrade times, and allow furloughed pilots to return. I would most likely never get to flowthrough to DL since I'm down on the comair list(realistically probably 80 to 100 people or so will flow up), but it would help movement at the airline.

I'm not sure where you got SJS syndrome out of that, but then again your post stated no facts to back up your other rationale.

Quick everyone, post!!!!..so we can get this overwith!! At least it'll end the speculation and guessing!

On another note, i think it's pretty obvious through recorded aviation history that flow throughs dont work in a regional pilots best interest. They are always biased to the mainline list, and the flow back is FAR more severe than the through (one word...EAGLE).
