is what reserves are for. IMO.

problem is i already talked to the chiefs about personal time for it.

After going back over the latest article about Delta/Comair and CVG I noticed that it says they will be restructuring what happens at CVG to make it more profitable and that it will be labor intensive. Anyone think that Comair will lose more flying to another regional out of CVG?

With two planes and two bases, there will be some shuffling as CVG CAs bid JFK CA rather than CVG FO, etc. When it is all figured out they will be fat 172 FOs (the original 86 + the 86 new downgrades). Then they'll take one last glance at staffing and announce who gets F'ed.

Or that's how I think it works.

That, plus Comair's spokeswoman saying 150 pilot furloughs in addition to the current 330 FO and FA furloughs.
The latest notice (2008-09) called for 48 CVG displacements and 22 JFK displacements. My initial thought was that would put them close to the "120" number that was thrown about earlier (70CA down and 140 FO out). The notice however specifies "Note that positions by category assumes a projected 86 furloughs". Can be found in the center of the page under the boxes that show current/projected staffing for each a/c and seat. Easy to miss, I didn't see it until someone pointed it out to me. Perhaps it will be more when all is said and done.

I wouldn't be surprised if our hours got chopped, but I think the article is referring more to reducing the number of flight banks or "pushes" from 7 to 5. In doing so, you reduce the number of employees needed to run the operation, as well as the amount of time that many spend on the clock.

My bad, thanks for picking up on it. I was thinking the 86 was the CA number.

Most Recent Email:

Fellow Comair Pilots,

Today many of you received notices from Comair regarding your outstanding uniform balance. The company is stating it must be paid by January 10, 2009.

Though no surprise to many of you I am sure this is once again a contract violation and a contradiction of what the company originally agreed to. I have contacted the company and will pass along information as soon as it becomes available

What a lousy company.

I am keeping a copy of every email/letter sent from the company/union. I suggest others out there do the same.

I have this letter, from the chiefs stating otherwise. They will likely drop the pass bene's next.

I think the doors will be closed at Comair when this thread reaches 10,000. Good luck to all

Wasn't the move from 8 to 7 banks in December 2005 the reason we lost CDs and started having 3-4 hour breaks all over the place?

I hope the drop to 5 means we get earlier releases or maybe less scheduled-reduced rests. And by "we" I mean whoever steals Comair's CVG flying. And by "earlier releases" I mean they can eat a turd.
