As far as CD's go, they aren't technically built with rest, but ground time (one could be the other, depending on how you look at it). The trip should also be filed with a "C". The filed letter its the quickest way to see if the trip is continuous duty or not (assuming its filed right, of course). CD's can be made into overnights and vice-versa, but its tricky as to who is able to operate which, depending on what they are notified of (I'm not too keen on grabbing the book right now, and I've been up far too long to read if I did).

Oh, I don't disagree with you ComairFO... it just feels like its done more often out of spite (we don't hate anyone... honest). If you need the time, by all means, take the time.

I've been assigned an overnight when the rest of the crew was on a CD, but I never had them on tape saying I was covering a CD. Dunno if it's even legal, but a union rep said he thought it probably was. But see what you can do with it.
A reserve is released to rest for the remainder of the day upon completing a CD. So no, you are not on duty after returning to domicile tomorrow (Monday).
If they give you something tomorrow, ask for a CP. Have a CP listen to the tape and if they insist you take additional flying, do what you must and grieve it. Should be good for an extra day off.

So on that S3 v. S3B thing... I guess the October 5thers are getting ripped off because I got switched to S3B on the 8th of October and I'm still S3B.
Hope I make it to the ATL tomorrow.

If you have them on tape saying you're assigned a CD, it's a CD. And if your crew is on a CD, that's all the ammo you should need.

Nothin much... just got back from Ireland, which was a blast. I have an interview this week at Mesaba... hopefully I get the job... it's really my only prospect at this point. What's up with you?

Hold on tight guys! 53,000 more jobs lost at Citigroup. Just my own opinion, but I believe that within the next 6 to 10 months the airline industry is going to get blindsided by financial struggles like we've never experienced before. Flying is a luxury just as objects at all of the retailers are. People simply won't be able to afford it when they don't have a job.
