True, but we'll need to start earlier in the year. If we hire somebody with less than ATP mins, they will need to be at ATP mins AND have their ATP by the time this August ruling takes effect. With the average flight time per month being about 45-70 hours, they'll need to meet those mins before august and run through an ATP course that the company puts together for current FO's before they are dequal'd in August.

I agree totally though, the pay will need to increase substantially (specifically for the FO's, but preferably for both CA and FO) in order to get people to come work here.

Hasn't that been said for years, people will always chase the magical 1000 T-pic.

Yea quite saying "cheers"

You mean "quit", Why is it that so many pilots are so lousy at spelling and grammar ? Makes me wonder what their resumes look like.

They are fast to come and bash on people's life/career decisions but they can't spell sh!t. Speaks a lot about the type of people they are. LOL!:p

Out of curiosity, I have to ask the GLA pilots on here if they ever debate how many pilots/ATC'ers on a daily basis in Denver roll their eyes with the constant "SEE YAAAAAAA'S" over the radios? Between pilots and ATC my bet is on 40 pairs during any given "SEE YAAAAAAA" event.

Nope, don't think they care. That's been going on for years between DEN Center and the Lakers... :D

Many times a true "SEE YAAA" is ATC initiated. So who is rolling eyes? SJS pilots who think a "short approach" is a base turn inside of 8 miles?

You need to understand the differences of a small t-prop and an RJ as well as the OPS spec for both. Some companies might require you to be stabilized on you final approach course on speed and sink rate by 1,000 ft, this would require you to complete your turn by around 3 1/2 miles out from the departure end of the runway and if you are going by DME add in another mile or two for runway length is the LOC antenna is on the departure end of the runway (likely) and you are fast approaching 5-6 miles. I am not making any excuses but there is a reason why often ATC fit t-prop (not just lakes) between jets and not the other way around and it has to do with maneuverability. Also some people are just not comfortable with, please respect that is not because they are a lesser pilot, but because they might not do it often and are exercising caution. A pilot who frequents DCA, LGA or even Aspen in a jet might handle the situation differently. There is more to flying than just whipping an aircraft around!
