They are almost identical. The only exception is first year pay is $22 at Skywest and $23 at ASA. Pay on the 700/900 is $1 an hour less at Skywest for years 10-18. Also, 2nd year FO is $1 an hour less at Skywest on the CRJ-700/900. Also, the 1% COLA is VERY weak. What is ASA getting in 2009 and 2010?

I would sent it back. Ask for $23 (or more) first year pay, and higher than ASA rates of the CRJ-700 since Skywest also flies the 900. COLA of 3%. I would worry less about the max captain rates because only 20 year lifers get that rate, while almost everyone goes through years 1-5. Worry about those years.

When can Skywest vote in ALPA?
I still will not bash Skywest for voting against ALPA (since they are still a good operation), but it may come out being your best choice in the long run.
Keep in mind that Skywest has a BHO, so sim training, recurrent training, vacation accrual is all based on their 200 rates. Also, if they were to ever get a Embraer Jet, they will go to the sim and be paid crj 200 rates.

Somewhat correct but you forgot a few things; we also don't get paid the override for reserve, deadhead and cancellations. But it allows all pilots to fly the CR2/7 & 9 which greatly improves lines. Just ask those at ASA how crappy their CR7 lines can be.

and by looking at the payscales i would venture to guess that the guys in sapa that put this out have been there 20 years and decided to give themselves a nice little 7 percent rais while almost everyone else gets 2 percent.
This is a bit misleading...

An 8 year old contract is a PRE 9/11 CONTRACT! You cannot realistically compare pre and post 9/11 contracts...the game is played on a different field now.

You are implying that your NEXT contract will be leaps and bounds better than your current one...

When do you expect to have a new contract? What numbers do you REALISTICALLY expect to get on the new one?

OK guys, back on topic.

I'm voting NO but I'm sad that the only unity we have here at SKW is to vote:

1. NO for representation
2. YES for any BS pay proposal Mgmnt dishes out

SAD, but it will pass by 65+%.

Game might be played on a different field, but 8 years is 8 years and their company isn't shrinking, its growing. Like wildfire.

I hope and believe that if 9E management doesn't offer a TA that is "leaps and bounds" better than their current one the pilot group will strike to achieve that end.

For comparison's sake, the 50 seat rates in the ASA Contract 07 (which has rates higher than this Skywest proposal) are *lower* than the rates in AWAC's concessionary 2003 agreement.

Inflation was 6.3% in 2007...

easy, we are going for expressjet rates plus 3%.. when will we get it?? probably when we have to strike. thats what our mec has told us and proposed to the company.. and are you really blaming your poor increase on 9/11 .. using 9/11 as a reason why your pay is just barely above ours is a terrible excuse,, especially 6 years later... you sound just like management telling us that times are tough and 9/11 and yadda yadda yadda... yet they post huge profits every quarter.. infact pinnacle is the most profitable company for investors amongst all the regionals.

I posted about a month ago that I was told all the company will give is 1% less than ASA. The reason I was given is that any new flying that SkyWest Inc. gets only SkyWest Airlines will fly, being that our costs are lower than ASA. I talked to a buddy of mine who was in SLC doing his PC today. The word he got was that the Southwest deal IS a done deal, Southwest is waiting to see exactly what our costs and oil prices are going to be before its signed.
