I will do my best! I don't know when we will get over there? Hopefully sooner than later. Would be nice to be able to drive to work for a change! Midwest announced they were making huge cutbacks in their flying. Any idea if this will directly affect SkyWest? Also, how much of their flying is for them?

 

OK, a few days later after I re-read my previous posting I can see that I did come off a bit abrasive and I worked him over pretty well. I do apologize that it read differently than it was actually intended. I was having a frustrating day and even though I didn’t mean to jump him I’m sorry it appeared that way. But one main line set me off on my tangent.
“Sold?” Bottom line, you can’t blame SKW or a recruiter for your situation or this crappy industry. Doing so shows a complete lack of understanding and personal responsibility. Yes, times are tough and vent all you want but don’t blame someone who didn’t make your choices for you. If this industry is not right for you, you got into it at the wrong time, you can’t afford the crummy pay and you’re throwing in the towel based upon these reasons or a few others then I fully and completely respect you. But don’t blame someone else.

Once again, sorry if I offended you and sorry for sounding so harsh, good day and I truly hope the best for you and yours in the future.

I heard from a friend who is in management at Midwest, that they will also park five 717, and stop all services that SkyWest is doing out of Kansas City. So, i am sure that they will drop some of the flying that SkyWest is doing.
Another thing he said is that they will reduce the frequency of flight for Midwest feeder (skywest) only 2 flight 2 GRB, MSN, a day and other places.....

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Midwest is gone by early to mid 09 and I'm sure that SKW Mgmnt is already preparing for it. JMHO and I take no joy.

 

I'll be rooting for Midwest to pull through. I want those MSP overnights!

 

I'm pulling for them as well; but unfortunately they’re Mgmnt team’s not running them very well.

 

Does anyone know how much of SkyWest's CRJ flying is for Midwest Air? If they cut 40% of their flying, this could affect SkyWest. I am just wondering how much this could/would affect SkyWest.

 

A reduction in flying will affect anyone. As for how much of our CRJ flying is Midwest then I'd say around 8% at most and around 6% of our total flying (EMB’s included).
