In the ask piedmont this week
Q. I know this might be news to some. We seem to still be short on reserves. What are the plans to recall the last 30 F/O's.
A. We continue to monitor pilot staffing and at this time we have adequate staffing. With the projected flying for the remainder of the year we are on target. If attrition increases or additional flying over the current projected comes about we will adjust as necessary but for now we are where we need to be. Pike

I wonder how many need to leave before they set up a class. I know of 6 who have left since I got back.

But for those of you looking for a silver lining:
Steve Farrow just saved a bunch of money by switching the company Cobus 3000s' insurance to Geico. A 15 minute call could save you ....

So anyone read the newest FIL concerning the Master Caution Panels? It's proof that it gets hot enough on our flight decks to melt solder! Instead of making us use the "dim" setting all the time so we can't see when they light up, how about you fix all the air conditioning ducts so the flight deck ambient air temperature remains within the Caution Panel's operating range?

So one of our LGA F/O's got fired for not going to work because of a car accident. I'm sure everyone will bend over and keep single engine taxiing and 35/k departures in a 300 with a tailwind in 98 degree heat. This pilot group is a complete joke....the management scare tactics obviously work on most of us clowns!

The FO has NOT been fired as of yet.
It may well be true that the company will fire the FO for the reasons previously stated. We have to wait to see what they do, but nothing has happened as of yet. Hold your horses, my opinion of this company is not much of a secret, but don't rush to diseminate false info.
When there is a resolution, I'll post more detail about the circumstances before this incident and including it, until then, it is not for public consumption as the matter is still very much open for the FO.
But I will say this, the burden of proof is on us for anything we do, and even with efforts to prove or vindicate one self, the company has a Stalinist view of guilty or innocent. Remember the purges?
Know your contract well, don't give an inch outside of the CBA. Use the ASAP process for issues, incidents or potential violations. Print your times at the end of every day, write down who and when you speak to someone if they call you or you to them for issues(i.e. DJ, JB, FJ, etc). Tell your local union reps about these conversations.
The company will take all they can from you, but the minute you accidentally step sideways, you will be toast. Remember C.Y.A!
