Also rumor circulating that PHX is more determined than ever right now to acquire the airplanes that are being discussed (1 -100, and 3 -300's) and are not low balling the offers, but rather looking at offering market prices for them...FINALLY! That is the rumor update for now.
I wish you were right but that's not true, I'm one of the 8 PDT guys that were hired in '08 and nobody recieved such letter. We have been asking very, VERY top people at mainline directly and they have giving us no hope at this point, they have been sticking to their story of "we don't know what's going to happen with the pool yet". We have even had some of our former PDT people currently at mainline call and ask on our behalf and have gotten no further. the only thing we can do is keep our fingers crossed at this point.

I don't understand why they are so noncommittal about the pool. If you were qualified enough to hire back in 08 you are surely qualified now.

The only thing I can think of is that they are afraid of bleeding the wholly owneds dry. However this doesn't make sense since PDT and PSA could find far more qualified candidates desperate enough to take a job with no future now than they can in a year or two when every regional out there is hiring and PDT will be the last place a pilot would want to end up.

I'll place blame where blame's due and for once PDT isn't to blame. As far as I'm concerned PDT had nothing to do with this. and oddly enough, absolutely nothing has changed with the pilots in the pool except 2.5 years later and we all now have more PIC time. We're really at a loss of what mainline is up to. they were scheduled to be at a job fair in vegas TODAY until they pulled out of it 12 days ago. odd...

That could be a good sign. Maybe they made a decision not to hire off the street but pull from the pool they already have. Who knows. I'm crossing my fingers for you guys.

When is Airways most likely going to hire? I was hearing early next year. Perhaps January...

That's what all the talk is about in the training dept at mainline. January seems to be it with nothing beyond first quarter being discussed. but who knows, optimism has bitten me more than once. I wonder if this new deal with mesa has anything to do with it? hard to figure what they're doing, even speculating is difficult.

Profit Sharing baby....most I ever got was $300 or so. Kind of a kick in the balls when we took paycuts for those sweet RJ's and a legitimate flowthrough agreement.

Haha! You crack me up.

Management will say, "we need several quarters of sustained profitability before we can think about a fleet renewal plan for Piedmont. As far as profit sharing that's what your triple play check is for. Be grateful for your extra $50 a month."

So on askpdt mgmt says they are actively looking for 300s with full support from PHX.

Search over.

Aircraft Availability

DHC-8-311 Turboprop Aircraft For Sale or Lease on SpeedNews

DHC-8 Turboprop Aircraft For Sale or Lease on SpeedNews

I won't even charge a finders fee, a recall would do just fine....

S.F. says he only wants them if the leasing company will give them an extended warranty at no additional cost. So far the best they've offered was a dinner for six at Taco Bell and a free coffee mug. The Commander wants more, so it might be a while before negotiations produce results.
