Make it easy on yourself. Interview at an open house so you dont have to take a written test. The gouge online is seriously spot on. Know how to read a metar inside and out. Know Jepp approach plates and how to brief them. Know your airport diagram and runway lights. Then shake the interviewer's hand and accept a class date. Easy as that.

I've recommended two people that didn't get in.m both ATPs with a lot of time already. I told them to download the Shepard interview prep.. They didn't... They failed the test.. No job offer. One wound up at C5 the other back to his 135.

Study a bit, be yourself, don't be weird, and you'll get the job and be at a wonderful place...

Then about 1.5 hours of presentations and a free lunch (Firehouse subs when I did it). Short 1 on 1 HR/ technical interview. All really standard questions, why Piedmont? TMAT.... Brief this jepp approach, what are green taxiway lights for? When can you start?
There were a couple more questions, but it was relaxed and professional. The one guy that didn't get an offer out of 7 of us that day didn't pass the written.
Lucky.. I got no lunch!!

Does anyone have any guesses on when they'll start hiring FO's for 145's?

It is seniority based. They can't open a position to new hires that has not already been offered to the pilot group. So once they run out of pilots on property that are willing and able to go to the 145, they will open those positions to new hires. If you want to fly the 145 at PDT in the near future, my advice would be to suck it up and accept a Dash position. Who knows the old girl might even teach you a thing or to.
