Lol nope! But you can plan on a bunch of RJ FO's coming to PDT now for the left seat. Instant PIC time and flow to the largest airline in the world if they want.
I see a ton from EXPxess jet and AWAC coming over. Will the training Department hold up is the question.

Only solution I see is to start using FSI folks or reduce flying more in order to get folks trained up to teach. There has to be some give if they want to expand at the rate they want.

Hey guys. Regional FO here likely getting ready to jump ship from my current employer. Received an announcement about major shrinkage and a possible closure of the base I am at and drive to (IAD). I won't commute for this company.

PDT was my original first choice a year ago. I interviewed and was offered the job but opted for an airline with a drivable base and went elsewhere instead. I have about 400 hours in the 145.

I've kept current following this thread and have read back several months, but have some questions.

What's the training footprint currently looking like? I know for a while new hires were waiting months to get to sims and/or OE.

When will street hires go to the 145?

What is reserve time looking like. If I come to PDT I would be doing a long commuting drive (3+ hours to philly) or would have to hop on an airplane out of DCA. I know I'll need a crash pad. Hopefully not for too long.

Have schedules improved at all? I know this used to be a hot topic on this thread. Are schedules at all commutable?

Any educated guesses as to when PDT will have to set up shop at a second hub base and any idea where it may be (I asked this question a few weeks ago on here.... Just curious if there are any new developments or rumors)?

Any other pertinent info for a potential new hire would be appreciated. I turned down PDT once... I don't think I'll do it a second time. Unless something miraculous happens and my IAD base is saved, looking forward to coming over.

If you live in and around IAD have you looked into C5? They are hiring into the 145 based in IAD and guys hired there in June with 1000 previous 121 experience are upgrading on the 145 in Sept. Just a thought. PM me if you want a contact over there.

I am considering C5 as well, but the 145 is only going to the top third of new hire classes right now. I would get the dash if I came over. I don't want to learn the dash just to go right back to the 145 shortly after. I'm a bit weary of C5 having a mirrored experience as we did trying to hire. Things here went from min upgrade and explosive growth to stagnation and parked airplanes overnight. I am considering it through.

Yup...agreed. He did say they are increasing the numbers going to the 145 within each class every month. Hard saying if they will be able to bring in enough people.

I'm a February hire and it took 5 months to get through to the end of soe for me. We had break in the middle of ground, 2 months wait for sims, then a 2 week wait for SOE. I believe the delays have been greatly reduced or don't exist any more.

Maybe soon'ish? With the start of Dash retirements they might be able to continually fill the jets with current Dash guys, but who knows. As it is, junior jet FO is a Jan '16 hire now.

A couple guys from my Feb class look like they might hold a hard line in MDT for next month. Still a bit longer to hold a line in the other bases.

- Still mostly 11 day off lines with 4-day trips/2 days off; I'm not a commuter, though.
- As for the other stuff, the answer is just like the incoming iPads - "Soon!!!!!" or "Free iPads Tomorrow!"
