Ground 'em all????

Freedom of speech is very important and I do not wish to even in the slightest impede it from this organization. But I also have the freedom to not view their website.
My reason for getting nasty is they really should vet their stories a little better before posting them. Yes, news from a former NTSB guy is news. However, it doesn't mean you have to run it. Especially when the person has personal motivation for spreading falsehoods.

a plurality of the general public, believe it or not - will realize the impracticality, rashness, and idiocy of this statement

True, but if the aviation sites DIDN'T run this story then there wouldn't be awareness in the aviation community about it which allows us to raise other people's awareness about how much of an idiot this guy is. I'd rather know about this now than suddenly hear about it when he decides to make a case of it.

I sympathize with you two, but I think you're being a little hard on Aero-News (and AvWeb reported it too, btw). A former NTSB chairman opining that all large turboprops should be grounded is NEWS and should be reported. Nearly all pilots - and a plurality of the general public, believe it or not - will realize the impracticality, rashness, and idiocy of this statement. Freedom of speech (and the press) is great - we now know where this moron stands.

The real issue is even before this tragedy, ive had people ask me if this little plane is safe, and now its going to get worse. There are already people out there that freak when they see a turbo prop now, thanks to the media and MR Hall. Am I the only one who sees hes using the media (AV-web and Aero news included) to make money off the misery of others. I just think professional ethics for an aviation jounalist, would have said I refuse to take part in spreading this false logic and purly money driven agenda. I hope you are on these boards Mr Hall, you sir ought to be ashamed of yourself...

Here we go again...
Nolan Law Group: Q400 Turboprops Operated by Colgan Air Need to Be Grounded
The Q has been flying in Europe for years, and not only in summer
. I don't think pilots are smarter or bolder on either side of the atlantic.
Of course they are quoting Jim Hall (hey a former NTSNB boss !!!! He MUST be right).
Next time an accident happens the summer let's suggest that type of airplane be grounded when temp is high and density unfavorable.
So airplanes will have flight envelope restricted in summer by more than actually restrictive "density corner" and in winter by the "icing corner".
I would laugh even more if these guys did not think they were serious.
Why don't these guys do something of their life instead of chasing ambulances?
Cheers to all.

Well, one thing I noticed there are A TON of new OPEN time trips for XJT, a lot of EWR-BUF, EWR-RDU etc........ I guess it is the open time from the flying that the 3407 aircraft was supposed to do.
Also is it true that like 50 or so Colgan F/A's quit right after this crash?
Also guys, you really can't blame the public and media the Q400 (pilot or aircraft induced) does not really have a stellar safety record.......... We know the deal, but this is what we od for a living, the public just sees a certain type of airplane crashing, I would be concerned too..........
