An OP ED (not so much news, but more like a reporters opinion) from the Denver Post:

"....Strange Bedford fellows.

Republic Airways chief executive Bryan Bedford channeling Frank Lorenzo?

Postings on an airline-pilot forum blog Thursday under a thread called "Lynx killed off" compare Bedford to Lorenzo, the legendary airline mogul who, under deregulation, bought up several carriers including Frontier (in a previous incarnation) and Continental.

When he was unable or unwilling to negotiate new contracts with Continental's union employees, Lorenzo put the airline into bankruptcy so he could fire union workers and restart the airline sans union staff.

"Meet the new Frank Lorenzo, folks," says a blog posting with a photo of Bedford in front of a jet engine. The item was posted shortly after Republic announced it would be getting rid of Lynx Aviation, the turboprop fleet that links smaller airports with Frontier's Denver hub."

Just remember folks. What you say here could be quoted in the news.

What's happening to Lynx sucks, but how is this relevant? Hopefully the SLI will give them seats in the 145s and E-Jets making even more money; the Lynx payrates are pretty sad.

I was thinking a nice little E-Jets logo on an oval sticker with "Big, Shiny and Cheap to Crew" written around the perimeter.

Hi.

DAL controlled Midwest before they were purchased by Republic, and I believe they worked together on that deal. I don't think Bedford would do anything to **** off his major partners.

I hope all the Lynx guys can get other jobs or be recalled before too long. I have seen Q Capt jobs in Vietnam, and a number of other places in addition to Japan.

On another note I am posting via a Verizon BB on an EDGE network out of Kisangani, DRC! Modern technology can help in many areas.

I commuted many times between DEN and GJT on Lynxx. It was always a friendly and relaxed experience. Very Best Wishes to all Lynxx employees. I am sorry to see your company shut down.

Cliff, that is probably the scariest part of all about this whole Republic mess. This all doesn't make a lick of sense which lends me to think something much bigger is going on behind the scenes. Is it an attempt at the ultimate scope loop-hole? Does Bedford know something we don't? Scary stuff.

When they realized the RAH offer was clean and ready to close within weeks, they realized they had no shot of acquiring F9 due to their very seedy offer. When they realized they were unprepared for such an acquistion, they had to save face. Kelly told SWAPA to to halt SLI talks, offer something FAPA would reject (Staple) and they could back out and save face by looking like heroes by protecting their employees interest rather than being laughed out of court by Judge Drain for such a ridiculous offer when another better offer was on the table. As usual, everybody on these forums thinks the pilots could have decided the fate of these two companies, when the reality is, they had 1% of the vote...if they were lucky.

Outright bold face lie!!!
