United Airlines - Company information

But Delta is now parking them as quickly as possible while United is apparently adding more 50 seaters.

So UAL has awarded 14 to ASA and 22 to ExpressJet, so that leaves another 14 to go then?

UAL is dumping some Mesa 50 seat flying.

Right of course, but they are adding 50 seaters on top of the replacements for Mesa. I don't understand UAL's logic. Maybe their 737s were old and inefficient but replacing them with 50 seaters? I don't see how that is possibly a better choice.

ya the info at the road show was kind of depressing. apparently the company has came to alpa, on more than one occassion, and asked them to relax the no furlough clause.

the pbs deals seams fair though.

I sure hope that was quickly shot down... Any word on ALPA's response?

Strange that the company is wasting negotiating capital on relaxing the no furlough clause when they're not accepting LOAs or giving out COMA lines.

Not sure where you get your rumors but I would imagine that one has little to no credibility. The union would have everything to gain by letting us as the pilots know about that. Sure the union will occasionally throw us under the bus but they know and have heard it straight from the mouths of a lot of "senior" pilots that one of the main things they want to see in the bargaining is that the company will bring back the "already furloughed". If anyone caught wind of the companies desire to furlough more, things would get hairy.

Not to mention the company does have a shortage on at least one side of things. Anyone on reserve knows what I mean. Even line holders that cannot move anything around have experienced it.

Wouldn't consider your rumor to be all that apparent. At least not to me.
