Actually, when I was called out into the hallway the interviewer's exact words were, "go back in there...get your stuff...dont say anything to anybody and come back out here."
I thought I was toast until he took me into the room with the pre-offer on the table. Apparently I was the only one selected that day out of 6.

He was at peace with it, and knew there was no way he was getting the job. When the door opened and they call his name he snapped to his feet, shook hands with me and one other guy that was left, and said to the interviewer "Should I grab my stuff??"
The interviewer just chuckled a bit and said, "No, just come outside for a minute."
A minute later he came back in, grabbed his stuff, and headed out.
It was pretty funny.

I remember when I interviewed, there was a guy that bombed the sim portion so badly that he came back into the holding tank all smiles, grins, and jokes!

Also, what's the best way to prepare for the sim?

know your basic Ifr stuff ....if you can figure out the hold entry without taking 10 minutes and having to draw out diagrams I think it would be a bonus . brief the hold, approach and have good communication with the PNF.Remember the holding procedure includes slowing down to holding speed ,advising atc upon entering the hold as well as reading back the holding instructions. Use positive exchange of controls!!! Make him work for you he will and he will be a very personable guy who will make you feel comfortable. If your approach sucks be proactive and go missed ...The approach should be a stabilized one .Be prepared that you may have to fly raw data . Dont count on having the flight director because some do not get the flight director .I did not have it. On the approach in 121 many airlines have altitude callouts when on the approach .This is the time to make a good impression .
Most important ... Be someone that a captain can spend days with in the flight deck . Leave the cockiness at home.... better yet if you are cocky its time to humble yourself .Good luck on your interview and sim !

The sim was EXTREMELY easy. Everyone was up in arms about how pitch sensititve it was, but it's a SIM! They are all pitch sensitive.
The profiles on the interview gouges are dead on. There are zero tricks in the sim. Know how to use an HSI, know how to hold, and know how to fly an approach. All things I would hope any instrument pilot would be able to pull off, hehe.

Baron G58, G1000 set up. The pointers above are great, don't forget to call for an expect clearance time when crossing the holding fix on your entry. When you show up to the interview they will give you a profile to follow, the PM (Who will also be fading your performance) will adjust the profile to his liking and aircraft background.

Interview done, and pre-offer extended!
The interview was a great experience. Everyone was really friendly. I actually had a lot of fun. Only about 1/3 of us got the offer, which I thought was surprising; everyone seemed pretty sharp! Now I just need to wait out the review board...
Good luck to those of you with interviews coming up.
