Well, business is business. But, he won't strip the company. If offered to him (or available) already in pieces, yes, he'll take Mesa and Comair.
But, with already 4 acquisitions, none were stripped of employees.

Well, that was my point. If he had the choice of taking them with pilots and their contract versus just the assets, I have a hunch which he would chose.

I'm not sure your hunch is necessarily right. I think if the airline is worth more put together he would try to keep it together. Like ASA or XJT. (he tried to keep it completely seperate before.) However if the planes, potential contracts from flying them, cost of training and elimination of debt are worth more than the existing certificate, contracts, infrastructure, and existing debt... then you're probably right with your hunch. If it's cheaper for him to merge them, then that's what he'd do to. Just aquiring the assets, I don't believe is ALWAYS the best option for Jerry, and as of yet, hasn't been the best option.

Why don't you ask that to the West Air guys!! check your history on that deal....

Well, at the time, I was talking to "Westcom" as an ATC dude. I'm not aware that SkW acquired West Air, or their equipment or employees. Are they flying UAL contracted routes that West Air once did? Of course. So do other companies.

I believe SKW did acquire west air in some fashion, but however it went down I think the west air pilots started over at the bottom of the SKW list (they might have retained longevity, not sure).
