OK, so how about this - If you SKYW guys would get your heads out of the sand and join the ASA/XJT group, then this whole shift of flying would virtually displace nobody. You might have to change aircraft to stay in your base, but I am sure that most people would rather do that than move.
And don't start with your 70 seaters are better than our 50 seaters. The pay is virtually the same (+/- a couple of bucks depending on seat and longevity). I think that I can speak for most - definitely not all - but most of the XJT guys and say that we're not salivating to fly your 700's just because it is a bigger airplane.

Alright, I agree that this is "new United" making this change - not SKYW. I was just trying to explain why the CAL guys are so upset about this "re-alignment".

I completely do not understand what you are trying to say here.

IAH:
CA’s = 100
FO’s = 100
FA’s = 200
TT # = 400 (200 pilots)
MSP:
CA’s = 70
FO’s = 70
FA’s = 70
TT # = 210 (140 pilots)
Overall there is a potential for 610 (340 pilots) displacements at SKW. Look at the standing bids and you can tell that 90+% of the pilots who have IAH or MSP in the bid don’t have either one as their #1 but 3rd or 4th down the list.

I'd check the standing bid list again mate. There are plenty of guys bidding for both. They'll have to displace some, no doubt, but its not nearly as many as I would've thought. Furthermore, more people will put in for it by the 15th.

Even then, junior CA's might have to bid back to FO in order to stay where they want to be.
Bottom line this a raw deal for SKW and XJT pilots...
Any XJT people who think we are "stealing" your flying or actually "want" to be in IAH need a serious does of reality check. There's no growth involved, nobody is going to win except for a tiny handful of commuters who woke up one day and found out that their domicile just moved to their home town...

Not all XJT pilots are p1ssed about IAH, I know a few friends of mine who live on the westcoast and are very excited about the potential for DEN, LAX or SFO. I’m certain that there are more than just the two of them.
Please don't fall prey to the "mine is better" mindset. Most of our a/c are 50's which compared to the XR are lacking. The 70/90's are excellent a/c but they don't pay what they should. Not many at SKW really care about flying a 70/90; they want QOL with solid benefits and respectable pay. If we all merged and biding the ERJ allowed them to live in domicile 99% would gladly transition. If you could read our internal forums you would see that there is a solid amount of our pilots who want one list for many reasons this one included.
Next, ignore Slappy. He’s a SKW extremist who had his lips surgically attached to Mgmt.’s back side. He’s anti-pilot and anti-labor. There’s an old saying I like to use when referring to posters like Slappy: “Arguing with a pilot’s like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a few hours you realize he likes it.”

IAH:
CA: So far there are 49 bids on the IAH list, 18 of them have IAH as their first preference, as of now it looks as if another 51 CA’s will be needed (meaning displaced) which means 82% of them don’t want IAH.
FO: So far there are 52 bids on the IAH list, 21 of them have IAH as their first preference, as of now it looks as if another 48 FO’s will be needed (meaning displaced) which means 78.5% of them don’t want IAH.
Between the two if SKW staffs IAH with 100 CA’s and 100 FO’s (according to the email), 161 pilots will be forced into IAH, that represents 80.5% of all the bids. I was somewhat close at 90%. "Horse shoes, Hand Grenades, and Aviation." Right? lol
