No matter what some internet tough guys say, we are very open minded at SKW and want to work with everyone for a better future.

The ball is in CAL/UAL ALPA’s court, we just have to wait and see what the JCBA will allow.

Note: There is a CA at SKW who will deny anyone other than a Fed, Check Airmen for a LC only or Mgmt. We have filled numerous complaints and he still won't take anyone, even a SKWr. I am sorry if anyone has been or ends up being denied by him, even I have had the “pleasure” of being left behind by this guy.

Seriously? How about some initials and a base??

Not a fan of posting that info on the forums so check you PM's and keep an eye out for him. He'll deny you to your face.

Matchpoint pm me this info if you would. I commute into work and it would be handy to know when I check the flights so I can swap over to southwest and not waste my time on my own company.

Is your MEC working diligently to get this matter stopped before it gets off the ground? I agree that ethically, our and your soon to be management is trying to pull a fast one but technically we will be operating those flights for the old united. We are not flying struck work, nor do we have a codeshare with CAL that is in violation of your contract. Semantics I know, but we will probably agree to disagree.

I'd agree with you if it were United mainline airframes doing the flying, but they aren't. Yes it will probably end up in the management friendly Texas court system and hopefully shot down but I'm not holding my breath.

Your contract is between you and your company. It can only be violated by one of the two parties involved in that contract.

Your management is screwing you, plain and simple.

Unfortunately that is the world we live in. I only hope you guys come out with an iron clad jcba that will restrict this scenario from existing and repeating itself. If it were up to me, we at skywest, would still be flying t-props on the west coast and nothing else.

As an XJT guy, I am not happy about this - however I will not deny anyone a ride because of it. As a commuter I'm worried about the tone of this conversation. We do not need to start a jumpseat war.

CAL guys, you have every right to be livid but you need to direct your anger at Smisek and Co. instead of the Skywest guys. Like they said, they cannot refuse this flying.

Remember what Gordon said "If you take a dollar away from a pilot, he will find a way to take ten dollars away from you." Now is the time to start making them pay. Taxi slow with both engines and APU running, fly slow and be late, write up EVERYTHING - if you are at an outstation, so much the better. Now is the time to make CAL mgt. pay for their arrogance. The game is on - they just sent a shot across the bow. Are you going to fire back and go for the kill, or curl up into a ball and raise the white flag.

The most important thing - absolutely DO NOT CAVE ON SCOPE. Enough is enough. You guys are the only ones that have a chance to stop this downward spiral. If you don't, in ten years virtually all domestic flying will be done by the regionals.

For the record, I'm not happy about this either. That said, I've gotta ask:

How did you feel when XJT opened a base in ORD? Honest question with no flame intended. I am noticing that quite a few XJT guys are angry that SKW is opening a crew base in IAH, yet XJT can open a base in ORD, and its okay?

Oh, and +1 to everything you said.
