I know I don't need to explain what a picket line is to you? Certainly not seeing that CAL has their fair share of scabs. Far more than SKW, which BTW has never flown struck work. There's no picket line here, if there was we'd be walking, if this is legal then we have no choice but to fly. Figure out what your management team plans to do and end it!

Match,

My argument isn't with you. You seem to get it and I can respect that. Its your fellow Skywesters who are salivating at the chance to fly broken contract work who make me sick.

Problem is it doesn't change a thing as far as jumpseat is concerned. No Skywesty sits on my aircraft after Jan 1st in and out of IAH.

There's a legal process to follow and a jumpseat war is not the right way to go about enforcing your contract. It simply hurts both pilot groups and empowers management.

A large majority of SKW pilots get it as well. On our internal forum there's a thread dedicated to it, but as with every airline there are a few who will jump at just about anything to improve their lives today without fully understanding what it might do to them tomorrow. The example I like to give my FO's is the shedding of flying that has taken place over that last decade. It may have benefited my life up till now but it has had a devastating effect on my/our career(s).

All flying should be done in-house, period. I wish you would accept the JSr and take the time to teach because denying him only adds justification (in his mind) to what he or she is doing. Besides, he was probably forced displace there anyway.

My 9 month old just woke up, good night and good luck!

Did you notice the earlier post that showed only 18 captains and 21 fo's had IAH as their first choice? That's less than 1.5% of our pilot group!

The people who actually want to go to IAH will not be commuting...they already live there. Denying folks the JS is only going to hurt those who got junior-manned. SKW has historically allowed us to decline to fly struck work but I don't think this is going to qualify. A JS war is only going to PO a lot of folks and cause a few folks to move to houston against their will.

IAH is a not a good airport to try to lock people out with the JS...kind of like LA or SFO. If people have to they will just take SWA to Hobby and then take the bus to IAH. That's not going to work so well for the CAL pilot who commutes from Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Colorado, etc...

757driver, no one at skywest is looking forward to flying in Iah. Many of us have adjusted to the stagnation and made the best of it for the time being (living in domicile). Is your MEC grieving this feverishly? What is the companys response? I ask because the ball is in your court. We at skywest are
Nothing but pawns in this game. I wish you guys the best of luck resolving this matter and I say that sincerely. I have been vocal about my support for a new jcba with tighter scope, even though it would be at the expense of my job.

Where do the 25 UAL furloughs that are currently flying for SkyW fit into this JS war? Will they be denied the JS as well?

There is no JS war! I will happily accept everyone and so will 99.9% of our pilots. If one of our pilots does get denied by a CAL pilot then proper channels will be followed and still no CAL pilot will be denied on a SKW a/c. No matter what some internet tough guys say, we are very open minded at SKW and want to work with everyone for a better future.

The ball is in CAL/UAL ALPA’s court, we just have to wait and see what the JCBA will allow.

Note: There is a CA at SKW who will deny anyone other than a Fed, Check Airmen for a LC only or Mgmt. We have filled numerous complaints and he still won't take anyone, even a SKWr. I am sorry if anyone has been or ends up being denied by him, even I have had the “pleasure” of being left behind by this guy.
