The Q400 is a great replacement for the CR2 but to date there is no replacement for the E120, that's why they are still here.
I agree, the Q400 is not a good EMB replacement...but IF the EMB's do go away, they will have to use SOMETHING with props and there are not a lot of choices. I don't think they are going to let all of that business go somewhere else. Maybe ATR's or Saabs instead of Q400's..but Saabs would have to come from the used market.

What ever happened to the Do-328? Isn't that a (relatively) modern, 35(ish) seat turboprop? You sure don't see them anymore...

The Do-Prop is a great a/c but sadly just as most NG props it feel victim to the late 90’s RJ craze and they halted production. It was a very fast 30-33 seat TP with excellent economics.

I believe the next TP for SKW will offer two models; both will be purchased by SKW. The models will mirror the sized of the Q200 and Q300 offering both 30-40 and 45-55 seat configurations. This will allow SKW to continuing operations into thin Markets like IYK, CEC, LMT, CIC, MOD, IPL, CDL, NYL and many others while having the ability to increase capacity during peak times with larger models.

I’m still not completely sure why Bombardier hasn’t produced a NG Q200 and Q300 with the Q400’s technology. That would create an impressive fleet that many airlines would be very interested in.

As well as that it is/was expensive to operate, made by a company that went out of business, spare parts aren't that easy to come by, it's a maintenance queen, etc.

Sophistication level slightly ahead of a Q400, and well above that of the EMB145 and CRJ-200.

No-brainer: Skywest. Commuting from Fresno to Chicago? Two legs to O'hare? No no no. You must really like that smell of manure.

Isn't SFO CRJ at skywest attainable?

Probably one of the most senior seats at the company right now

Although given the circumstances of the last few years, the most junior FO there has 4 years with the company and at least 700 guys below him. It only has 29 FO spots right now and there are more than two dozen with their bids in for it. Domicile staffing has a way of always changing at the regionals, but I would count on making other plans as a skywest newhire. All FWIW...

They have historically been junior at the bottom end just because they are large, but with the addition of MSP and IAH, they will probably go more senior.

I think a new-hire should still be able to get into SLC and maybe DEN fairly quickly but you will stay junior for much longer than IAH/ORD/MSP.

DEN is not an EMB base if you are thinking about that.

Least senior to most senior for CRJ FOs will most likely be IAH/MSP, ORD, SLC, DEN, COS, TUS, FAT, LAX/SFO.
