How do you figure??? Being a captain and having 400-500 FO's ahead of me on the list wont affect my QOL. I wont be on reserve and essentially be no better than a street captain forever?

I thought the ALPA merger policy was to prevent windfalls in EITHER direction. Dumping 500 FOs ahead of a captain I'd probably say is a windfall.

I may be missing something but I just don't see how relative seniority is unfair. Everyone remains in the same place. The same distance from upgrading, the same chunk of pilots ahead and behind them.

I feel like some of the XJ and Pinnacle guys are expecting to go from FO to an instant upgrade and then on top of that they expect to be able to hold a line by having a ton of guys below them on the list. How is that not a windfall?
No windfalls? Colgan pilots, what would you call your contract improvements? If it were not for the contract we had at XJ you would not have received amazing contract improvement you got.

How many senior 9E and XJ guys are going to bid Colgan bases after integration?

Some, probably..... But the large majority will stay with the jets leaving the Colgan bases junior anyway, not affecting anyones QOL.
Can I get that in writing? LOL...Just trying to add a little levity to a very touchy subject. I have always told people that any kind of merger, purchase or acquisition typically leaves a wake of human carnage in the form of destroyed careers, divorces, etc... I am in there with ya' and praying for y'all.

While at Mesaba this week I overheard some interesting conversations between employees like the entire operation is going to buttoned up in a year, to "where going to be all turboprop" soon. We knew this.

You guys are waaaay to worried about us wanting to fly your fancy jets. Most of the people could care less about flying a P.O.S. CRJ200 or it's longer tube big brother P.O.S. CRJ900 out some ghetto base like DTW MSP or JFK.

Put a fence up! I personally don't care about your jets. I'd be happy to go my entire career without having to get into a crappy regional jet. Don't forget; Canadair and Embraer are the major reasons why this industry and profession suck a$$ right now. Without RJs it would be turboprops flown by regionals and Boeings flown by majors. Like it was in the glory day$ of this biz.

I'll take my slow, loud, smelly, duct taped, iced up SAAB any day. I'll gladly fly it or a 1900 until my number comes up to fly a REAL jet made in Everett, WA.

Yes it will, I have seniority lists from XJ and 9E and I've gotten a few hire dates from Colgan guys, go to page 6 of this thread and reread my post.

It is accurate.

And keep in my mind that I used 9E with checkride dates, not actual DOH, which I understand will give 9E guys a 3 month bump up for DOH.

Believe what you want to believe.

I agree 100% a 74 seat turboprop is a regional jet as well. Anything over 30 or 40 seats should be a mainline a/c. They got greedy on both sides of the house.

Move to Memphis, which pmfs for the lifers up there. My take was that the entire operation is going turboprop, a 50 seat turbojet and $5.00/gallon jet A won't fit in the same sentence. It's going to be a huge Q operation, which makes sense if the flying public can get past the propeller stigma.
