May 15th is the earliest the SLI arbitration will be completed. It could (and my own personal guess is that it will) be sometime after that date before Bloch releases his decision.

May 15 is the deadline. We will know by this date.

The union had originally said that he was "contractually" obligated to reach a decision by May 1st. So the deadline has already moved once.

I'm not an English major, but this sentence says to me that we are supposed to have a decision by May 15th.
From the union email:
Unless the merger representatives are able to reach a deal on their own, Mr. Bloch will render a decision, in his role as an Arbitrator, and will be charged with awarding an Integrated Seniority List. Mr. Bloch will have up to 30 days (starting from April 15th) to render a final and binding decision.

Final rebuttles went in yesterday and Bloch has 30 days. There is, however, no penalty for longer. He did the 9E -900 rates a few years back and had a set time period- what ended up was after about 100 days the company and ALPA jointly asking for the rates. He has a nickname of "block to block bloch". They are due in 30 days, little chance for them to be early and (from what I've been told) it should be out "on or around the 15th". Remember- there are no penalties if it's late- it's simply due.

April first was to be the end of mediated negotiations. At that point Mr Bloch would have had 30 days for his decision which would put the date around the 1st of May. After closing arguments the representatives were given 15 additional days to provide an additional item. That is where the May 15th date came from. Bloch has 30 days from the end of the "process" which was moved to the 15th from the 1st.
