XJ 9E 9L SLI Thread
#471
is anyone actually surprised at any of the proposals? Seriously? It seems to me that as well educated professionals, we could infer that in a negotiation, each group would put forth the argument that would benefit the ones they represent. This shouldn't be "shocking" or elicit outrage. Of course this was each groups proposal. We should be yawning here, not up in arms. Relax folks...we'll be married soon; with children. And we'll all learn how to be one big happy blended family. Until then, ignore the posturing. Releasing the obvious positions only serve to inflame and is/was foolish.
Thanks for using logic Hireme!
I posted this in the other thread but I think it's appropriate here too...
Ok as a 9e pilot I will say I could care less if this info was released. it was OUR SLI group representing US....OUR best interests.....just as YOUR SLI group looked out for YOUR best interests. Anyone who didn't think this would go to arbitration with 3 vastly different pilot groups was smoking crack. But I am no more embarrassed of MY SLI reps looking out for ME, as YOU should be of your SLI reps for letting a 2 year 9L fo leapfrogging a 5 year 9e fo.....that's why it's called representation...you represent your own pilot group and look out for their best interests.
The only thing more comical about bashing the 9e SLI reps over looking out for their best interests and not bending over, is the peeps on here bashing the 9e pilot group as a whole for something 3 guys did in secret with zero input/communication from and to the pilot group......

Second, there are 9e guys questioning the decision to release the info.
And third, at the company BBQ, I hope my 3 guys vote in secret that the only case of beer goes to 9L instead of doing it fairly, as that would clearly have mine and my fellow cjc'ers best interests in mind... After we play 'leapfrog' of course

From the Colgan guys that have responded to my post about the CRJ... it's been quite enlightening. Apparently no one from Colgan wants to come to the jet side!!
You can have your Relative Percentile integration... but I want a 7 year fence between jets and props in return.
That way, you guys keep your bidding power on your own equipment... and since none of you want to come over to the CRJs (cause they're old and smelly), then you shouldn't have a problem with a long-term fencing solution.

Class-less of the Colgan merger committee to release this just days before the final Bloch SLI award!
All arbitrators in the past have included the individual airlines' proposals for SLI, with an explanation of what the arbitrator feels and therefore leads to his conclusion, followed by the final list.
There was absolutely NO point in releasing this, except to try and 'look good' to their own group and scream waaah, waaah, look at Pinnacle and Mesaba not playin nice with us!
Give me a break. This release was a completely classless act. It has done nothing but provoke ill-feelings. Score, Colgan. And btw, your SLI method is just as crappy as the others. Putting a 2010 DOH Colgan guy ahead of a Pinnacle 2007 guy like myself? Sure.

We don't need no stinkin' autopilots... and speed mode? How about I just select IAS mode for myself... you super jet kids confuse us poor dumb country folk. You need FMS whereas I need a VOR... you need an APU but all I need is a whiskey hatch... you bring fancy gadgets to pass the time while I bring a fresh can of Copenhagen... you see the difference between us? You can have the jet while I keep my 20min commute to work.
