XJ 9E 9L SLI Thread

It's naive to think it won't happen. Company wide? No. Isolated cases? Sure.

All true words.
Instead of getting twisted around the axle on SLI propositions which will converge on the absurd, prepare yourselves for the award which will be a sticking arbitration (deal with it like adults vs. the usair types who continue to act like 4 year olds).
The list that comes out is a legal and binding interpretation... everyone will likely be duely ****ed off.

On the other hand, just how long should I be angry at the guy that knocked up my wife?

I wouldnt think the same applies here...neither XJ or 9L were in bankruptcy, and both have airframes (I.e. 900 and Q400) that are desirable right now to mainline, so both were technically in a somewhat stable longterm situations. Delta sold XJ to Corp without any choice in the matter, considering OO wanted to purchase XJ... same with Compass...F9 had a option to be bought by SWA...Not to mention two different unions...I don't see any similarities

Using his logic, none of the -200's at 9E would be stable either.

Newest -200's under contract til 2017 while other flying is either on a "month to month" basis or a chopping block. While I agree that the -900's and the Q are "more stable" I wouldn't call the 9E -200 flying unsecured at this point. With RFP's in 2013-2015 and then the 2017 expiration/renewal nothing is "long term" in this industry. Glass half full.

I'm not basing anything with SLI off what airplanes we have or how many, it just seems a lot of the 9E folk like to talk about career progression in terms of what aircraft we have...I must respectfully disagree, things change daily
