XJ 9E 9L SLI Thread

The proposal doesn't put anyone out of original seniority order. It deals with numbers of positions, not people. So if 50 jets required 250 captains, then the first 250 people on the seniority list, regardless of whether the were on a jet or prop, or even a captain or an FO, would be 'assumed' to be in the jet captain category for purposes of integration.

Colgan ALPA
Arbitrator Bloch has informed us that his decision on the combined seniority list is complete but he wishes to give it a final review over the weekend. Please stay tuned for more information.
Looks like it will be postponed...This was just posted on the Colgan Facebook page

I hate to quote myself, but:
Guess my forecast was right. Man, I'm in the wrong industry, I shoulda been a weatherman.
I forecast that Colgan will be the first to release it,
If the Colgan MEC wants to give the Colgan pilots timely information, I'm all for it. Perhaps I should have not posted the message I saw, on this forum and allow you to wait to get your update from your MEC.
I still love you though....

The only thing that could move you out of your position is senior Saab guys being displaced and taking whatever their seniority can hold.
But that will happen anyway, not as a result of SLI.

That would effectively make me a 6th year street captain that would in a resorting for seniority have me sitting as a junior, possibly even reserve, jet FO. I'd call that a hell of a seniority grab by Pinnacle.

Cmon Avro, Pinnacle didn't want second year Colgan guys senior to their sixth year guys, but had no trouble putting those sixth year guys ahead of 18th year Colganites. Remember, the goal is "fair and equitable". Fair for some and equitable for none.

"Fair and equitable" needs to consider past history. I don't think it was "fair and equitable" for our airline to magically form a holding company overnight, called Pinnacle holdings, and then told I work for Pinnacle Airlines INC. And then holdings purchased Colgan, and used Pinnacle Inc money (the 191 million NWA bankruptcy note) to buy 15 Q400s for Colgan, all the while telling us that our ALPA contract proposal would bankrupt Pinnacle Inc. To me, that was not "fair and equitable." Colgan grew exponentially while Pinnacle became stale, at our expense, and while Colgan continued to receive deliveries of new aircraft, new hires, upgrades, we downgraded twice and displaced twice.
The overwhelming majority of Colgan pilots here are 2007 or later DOH (hey, that's like almost 70% of the group), and to me, it gets a little tiring of hearing how they could be 'screwed' in an integration when they have barely 1-3 years in this industry altogether. So don't at Pinnacle, or at their proposal. Of the three proposals, I'd argue Pinnacle's was most fair, then Mesaba's DOH.
Good day.

When you say "hundreds and hundreds" of Colgan pilots are 09'/10' hires you are not entirely accurate. The vast majority of the pilots of ALL companies combined have less than 6 years service, closer to 3-4 actually.
You are a late 07' hire. What are you so upset about?
Just let it run its course.
