So your saying it would be OK to put Jet CA above Turboprop CA on the list even if the the turboprop CA has years of seniority over the jet guy? That is not fair at all.

DOH would be the MOST fair way to handle this. That catagory and class BS is pretty darn retarded. Just because someone fly's a turboprop does not mean they belong below someone else on the seniority list. In fact Mesaba turboprop FO's were making more than Pinnacle JET FO's prior to the JCBA. In fact they still make more in some cases under the grandfathered rates.

Out of the three proposed ideas Pinnacles was the most irrational proposal of them all. It would essentially be a staple of all Colgan pilots and quite a few Mesaba pilots below them.

The list would only involve specific pilots in the beginning on a DOH scenario. In % or stat/class it's determining a ratio and number order and populated from current lists. In no case can a pilot move up or down from their current list. So a jet CA at 9E may have an FO senior to him, in the end that Fo would still be above. Relative would be straight percentages across the board (in a ratio representative of size of groups). In stat/cat it's a numbering of positions and populated from the lists. It wouldn't matter what your "current" position is, it would be the numbering of allocated positions. In the end nobody will be in a "bump/flush" so you keep your current seat although your seniority in that seat may move up or down.

I just want to see the list. The biggest area of possible movement is for those who were 2-3 year guys. I'm above that so a DOH actually benefits me (hurts the senior and junior coworkers at 9E), relative could hurt by numbers (and bring up the biggest disgruntlement over a lower longevity guy doing a leapfrog), and the 9E proposal keeps me about the same as far as bidding power and seat/equip from what I'm seeing in my rough calculations. I'm not worried- because I can't control it! What I'm really wondering is if the list will be "up to date" or just up to the negotiated dates. As in- when it comes out will it be the equivalent of "live". I guess we will all know Monday unless I get picked up tomorrow.

"Fair and equitable" needs to consider past history. I don't think it was "fair and equitable" for our airline to magically form a holding company overnight, called Pinnacle holdings, and then told I work for Pinnacle Airlines INC. And then holdings purchased Colgan, and used Pinnacle Inc money (the 191 million NWA bankruptcy note) to buy 15 Q400s for Colgan, all the while telling us that our ALPA contract proposal would bankrupt Pinnacle Inc. To me, that was not "fair and equitable." Colgan grew exponentially while Pinnacle became stale, at our expense, and while Colgan continued to receive deliveries of new aircraft, new hires, upgrades, we downgraded twice and displaced twice.

The overwhelming majority of Colgan pilots here are 2007 or later DOH (hey, that's like almost 70% of the group), and to me, it gets a little tiring of hearing how they could be 'screwed' in an integration when they have barely 1-3 years in this industry altogether. So don't at Pinnacle, or at their proposal. Of the three proposals, I'd argue Pinnacle's was most fair, then Mesaba's DOH.

Under the Pinnacle plan you end up around 1100 (of +/-2800), and I end up around 2600???? Thirty DAYS means a drop of 1500 seats??? And YOU think THAT plan was Fair and Equitable??? Fairer even than Mesaba's DOH plan???

And don't give me the "We bought your aircraft" or the whipsaw line. You and I both knew when we were hired that Pinnacle CORP owned Colgan and that Colgan was getting new aircraft. You made YOUR choice, and I made mine. Now, YOU see the integration as a chance to leap frog everybody. Go figure... (OH yes I DID just !)

And how was the pcl method fair to the mesaba pilots? also, how is putting 5-10 yr colgan guys all below the most junior of junior pcl guys? please explain your definition of fair.

actually, never mind, because I really don't care. I realize that you are caught up in old drama that has nothing to do with me. Your pilot group is plain angry at the world and that is what was really driving the twisted logic behind the proposal. you're entire second paragraph has NOTHING to do with this three way proposal. You just want someone to pay for the wrongs of pncl management against your pilot group. Listen, it ain't me!

Hey FlyJSH,

If you look back a bit in this post (right around the time he called one of us Marvin) you'll see that ShyGuy worked as a janitor or something at Pinnacle before he became a pilot. That somehow makes him think he is a veteran Pinnacle pilot and the basis for his anger.

He's truly one of a kind!

I don't think Pinnacles proposal was irrational. Bloch did Delta/NWA integration..Do you even know how he awarded it? We'll I'll save you the time because it doesn't sound like you have looked....It was a ratioed status/category award. What did Pinnacle propose?

The only ppl at XJ who wanted DOH would be all the senior guys.

DOH will never happen, end of story.

Its going to be a mix of Colgan/Pinnacle proposals.

hey what about those of us that were hired when 9e was still Express Airlines I? Don't leave us out of this fight, show us some love! DOH for anyone hired prior to the purchase of Colgan, then relative for those hired after? like you said everyone who came after the purchase knew the poopstorm that was over the horizon.....
and no this is not my official stance just food for thought so save the hate mail please...(everyone exept FlyJSH)
