No Axial, it's still selfish.

How is it fair that everyone on the list gets merged in one fashion, but the fact that someone on one of the lists had the misfortune of being furloughed gets merged without their DOH being taken into account?

It's all about taking advantage of someone for our own self-interests.

It's fair because if there were no merger, then they would still be on the street with no job and no realistic chance of being recalled any time soon. Now thanks to the opportunities provided by the merger they get a job at an improving company with no chance of furloughs for a long time to come barring a complete meltdown somewhere.

If our union was not so kind this is how it would have been played all along. XJ did it to do us back in the day and would do the same thing again if this was the other way around and no one can deny that.
You sir should do a little research before you speak. That's like comparing apples to olives. They were two separate companies then with no plans of merging. This senario is completely different. Talk to the people it affected at both Pinnacle and Mesaba , and read the LOA

So we still give them the shaft because they are homeless? Its nor fair. 9E and 9L offered XJ pilots first priority at a job at their respective companies. A good thing and very generous of them. However, the new Mesaba will be growing and hiring, so we will technically need to "recall" Should the furloughed pilots not be able to come back to XJ if they wish at their original number? How is it fair to be furloughed by a company, and then come back junior to someone who has put less time in as they have?

Not to take anything away from the thread but spin this off...just a thought that has crossed my mind. Since the Q's will technically be Mesaba's and since Mesaba is reducing the fleet...why not start training Mesaba furloughees on the Q, there is a need for staffing at Colgan i presume, and I'm guessing that several XJ FO's or Capts will be jumping over to the Q anyway when it becomes available...I'm guessing the only thing holding this back is having 2 seperate certificates and no SLI? I'm thinking when this contract gets put in place and everything becomes official you will see a recall at XJ...maybe...possibly

We won't have a single contract until noon today, lol.

I think we will be getting lots of news in the next few days and weeks once the JCBA is ratified.

It's not the same company, Mesaba was purchased. Life's not fair sometimes.

Lifes not fair because selfish pilots insist on it being that way.
