Seniority at Pinnacle was done within each class according by age- regardless of who finished first. I was the most junior in my class, finished mid pack (checkride dates), and am still the most junior in my class. Was it screwed up, yes. Is it now fixed, yes. At the time it only impacted our pay (6-8 week delay each year in longevity steps), but since we were all in the same boat it didn't have any effect on seniority. Now it does matter. That's 6-8 weeks for each pilot in the combined group.

no method they use is changing our seniority on the 9e side. I'm in the same boat as Higney...I was the youngest in my class on day 1 of class so I was the junior guy in my class, yet I was paired up with the senior guy in class for sim purposes so I had the first checkride of my class and remained the junior guy once all the checkrides were done. There was also a Saab class that started a few days after my CRJ class and they were all junior to me since their class started later, yet they all finished their checkrides befor our RJ class did.

Nope it's not an issue, Bloch wants to include a current complete seniority list in his award. So....tomorrow it should be out unless he wants to add a recipe for Swedish meatballs or something to bill more hourly.

Personally I don't think our seniority date has anything to do with the delay. I would bet it is Mesaba arguing that the furloughees who are flying the line at Pinnacle and Colgan shouldn't be considered furloughed for the list. That is why Bloch is looking at the MOU about them coming back to work.

Moral of the story- on the "paper" we went by prior merger seniority was exactly the same as everywhere else. We simply didn't have a DOH until we passed our checkride. That impacted pay and benefits. Both XJ and CJC were "hired" with a DOH on day 1 of class. For the SLI class date and DOH for 9E were agreed to be "one in the same" for day 1 of class. The actual order of the list doesn't move a single person but DOES move the DOH for each pilot up 6-8 weeks. We still retain our old (later) date for pay and benefit accrual (longevity).
I hope this is done, finalized, and out tomorrow.

The way I see it:
You get hired by 9E and are given a number, but no longevity date until checkride?
If that's the case, 9E would have to use initial class date for DOH because any other date would change 9E seniority order within their current list.
And that can't happen according to ALPA Merger Policy documentation.

Except for one time in Amsterdam, nowhere have I seen such a large group of people in such a hurry to get screwed....
