Guy called for an interview. Transitioning to an all Saab 340 fleet. Will train for B1900 then into S340 at a later date down the road. Pay $300 per month automatic payroll deducted for 5 years for a total of $18000. You wouldn't make enough money as even a Captain to pay that along with bills. Crazy.

Yup, I can confirm. Just got off the phone with the recruiter. They take $300 out of your paycheck. After 5 years of service, you've only paid $18,000, but its considered paid off/squared away. Should you decide to leave early, your stuck paying the difference. $19 per hour, 75 hour monthly guarantee. He asked if I wanted to come interview next week at FLL...flights are $350 each way, HAH!
Wow. Un freaking believeable!
Oh and to Mr./Mrs./Ms. What.....You called it! Can What get a wi---tne---ss?

Thats exactly what I'm saying. From the sound of it, you pay $25,000 for 250 worth of hours, once your "hired" your furloughed, only to have a $25,000 note to pay off with no job...I'll have better job security and pay as a CFI than this gig...what a scam...

I know what your thinking about. But GIA's setup is different. They don't care how long you work for them. 3 months or 5 years, it's the same to them. And nothing is prorated like some airlines.
They want you to pay for training. $25000 is the training cost. You pay $300/month which is automatically payroll deducted each month for five years. At five years you've paid $18,000. They forget the remaining $7000.
So this isn't a pay penalty if you leave early like other airlines. It's a "you pay us for putting you through training". I was excited until I heard this.
