soooo which is it? the F bomb because you can't park 36 planes and not expect a layoff, or we were severely understaffed? make up your mind...

Fact 1. Dozens of Saabs were parked with no suitable replacement aircraft taking their place. This was an outright fleet reduction. Those pilots have to go somewhere. Luckily, thanks to PINNACLE'S short staffing, all those pilots found seats to go in, and not a single pilot was furloughed.

More Q's are coming. Conited wanted 15 Q's added every two years starting in 2008, for a total of 45 by the end of 2012. 2010's deliveries carried over to 2011 due to UA/CAL fleet realization issues, and other reasons as well I'm sure.
No more -200's are coming. They're leaving. The T-prop to jet ratio in 5 years may shock a few hard-liner jet jockeys here.
PS: after the 45 Q's, there are 60 options.... Do the math...

Btw, since you're a Colgan guy, can you confirm exactly how many Qs you operate right now? And how many are on FIRM delivery, coming for sure, for 2012 and onwards?

Not "WE" , only Pinnacle was understaffed. Not Mesaba, not Colgan. If it wasn't for this merger, you can bet XJ would have tons more furloughs. Some of them for the third time. The attrition has (finally) picked up, and people are leaving in good numbers. That helps avoid the 'f' word.

That's horse****** dude. Even a cheap airline like Mesa back in the day would send its pilots to Germany for RJ simulator training. There's ALWAYS simulators available. Whether or not the airline is willing to send its pilots over there is the question.

Dude everyone agrees that had Mesaba not been bought, and lost their Saabs, they would have had more furloughs. But in your first quote you said "the higher ups are tossing the F word around bla bla bla..." meaning POST MERGER (NOW). This new vacancy people are asking about is POST MERGER. My reply that you quoted was POST MERGER. Please keep your arguments in the same timeframe when you are caught with your pants down and not try to waffle. It doesn't matter which company was understaffed Pre or Post MERGER. Since at least 1 was, most likely 2, we didn't have to furlough, and we were telling you that we wouldn't have to furlough but you love to run around on this board like Chiken Little and the sky falling. In 3 pages you went from gloom and doom "I knew it would happen you can't park 36 planes and not furlough" to "the only reason we aren't furloughing is because Pinnacle was short staffed. Well which is it??? Mesaba would furloughed have PRE MERGER, nobody needs to now. What's so hard about that?
