To answer your question, yes they are still around.

Most are overseas, but Silver and Great Lakes still have a full fleet of them. Silver is slowly starting to phase some of them out. Other companies like Era and Bering Air utilize them in Alaska.

What other 19ish seaters were commonly in use?
A quick wikipedia search shows Jetstream, Twin Otter, Dornier 228, Metroliner, EMB110.
I know at least a few of these are now used by cargo companies. Maybe because boxes don't care if the plane is old, loud, and vibrates. So that's probably why they're unpopular with passengers. That and, as already stated, the overhead even for small operators is enormous.

...so when should I put you all to shame and regale you with tales from my career acting in adult films?
$10 says that would be more entertaining than the CJ that's going on in this thread.

Ok, I don't really have a dog in this fight, but we need to make something clear, because a grave mistake has been made multiple times.

Does the picture help?

Call me crazy but I miss the Beech 1900. I will never be as good of a pilot as I was than when I was rocking the 1900 around the Northeast. If I could make the same money I make flying the 145 and I had a choice I'd pick the 1900. Sure the jet is fast and cool, but its waaaay easier to fly than the 1900 was...basically everything in the 145 is automatic. On the 1900 the only automatic thing I had was the autobrief.
Now if I feel like just being lazy and collecting a pay check then give me the 145, but if I feel like flying a plane give me the 1900.

Flown jets been there done that. Your job is a joke everyday I fly it's hand flown to some smally crummy airport with bs weather reporting. Ice up the wazoo and a runway that is marginal at best so don't cry to me about your mel autopilot. Twice as fast means nothing anybody can deal with speed.
But now you have me curious to Cruz. I've followed you on this forum for quite a while now and I don't remember you ever having flown a jet either. No piloting job is a joke Cruz. Your head seems to have grown awfully large in a short amount of time since you just entered the P121 world. Maybe you should take a step back from the "Your job is a joke.....[I] fly into some small crummy airports with bs weather reporting.....Ice up the wazoo....and marginal runways" It is P121 flying; many would/could say that it is fairly easy flying period (but you would probably take that as a slight too eh?)

What outfit does this guy work for? I'm gonna have to add it to the list of companies I won't let my family on, unless it's already there.
