I blame bad mgmt at 9E. Phill got the ball rolling and the airline has made one bad decision after another. The well had been poisioned long before Delta sold XJ to 9E. Just look at the cluster going on there now. They have pilots who haven't flown for 6 months and they have CRJ 200/900 pilots who have to go thru a full blown training event just to keep flying the same plane they are already flying. I suppose thats Deltas fault too?

That part is the feds. They are the ones telling the company how to train. With that said they are still wasting tons of money. Instead of sending 1 instructor to MSP for CRM and SEC training, where all the XJ 200 pilots are based, they send them to MEM get 25 hotel rooms for 4-6 days twice a month.

Negotiating Committee Update
Management advised the Negotiating Committee that it has received new information from Delta concerning our future fleet plan. If we are able to come to terms on a Restructuring Agreement that amends the JCBA, it is anticipated that the 200 fleet will begin to shrink sometime next year, and that we may be in position to gain additional CRJ-900 aircraft. If we are unable to reach agreement on revisions to the JCBA, we have been told that Pinnacle will wind down, and that our flying will be taken over by other carriers who have already been selected by Delta.
In order to assess the impact of these forecast revisions to the fleet plan, both the ALPA and management negotiating teams have decided to work internally for the next several days. We are currently planning to return to the bargaining table next week.
We do not believe that the projected fleet plan changes mean that there is no future for Pinnacle, but we do believe that it is highly likely that Pinnacle will experience a reduction in its overall fleet size. This is important information for you to have, especially as some of you consider the wisdom of bidding on a Long Term Leave or consider what other employment options might be available to you.
The Negotiating Committee is in close contact with the MEC, and continues to work on formulating proposals that address the needs of the company and the needs of our pilots in an uncertain environment.

Sorry guys, but this is like going to see the movie SAW 5 and thinking the ending will be different than the first four.

I'll play the devil's advocate. I opposed the JCBA, it didn't pay us what we were worth. We are fighting a losing battle, look at GoJets and Republic and there is no way, our crappy contract was put to shame by these other even crappier contracts. We should vote in the biggest steaming pile of you know what, something that puts GoJets to shame. Let's beat them at their own game. Let's screw this industry so bad that in two years there won't be a single bank that will loan money for someone to be a pilot. It has to get worse before it will get any better. I want to see how many pilots are left in this industry after we get the ball rolling and even GoJets has to go to their pilots for relief. Maybe then will things start to improve.

they have already selected your replacement. they have already agreed to a contract with those who will take over for you. no matter what you do, the reduction in aircraft will happen, you might be able to delay, but that will help dal out while giving there new feeders time to get setup. that is my interpetation of that simple statement.

Actually, big Phil got exactly what he wanted: cheap labor, and a turboprop platform to launch the Q400s with low seniority pilots, while screwing over the 9E pilots who were more senior and would have demanded more money in accordance to the CBA. Colgan pilots at the time were non-union, and had no say. The non-union Colgan grew/expanded while the union Pinnacle downgraded and displaced.

I don't think you realize how often many of us are on the road training you guys.....it's not an instructor decision, it is XJ managements.....they are the ones who took in-base recurrent and sent it all to MSP, saving all those $$ (sarcasm)

From: ELACS, FACs and SECs. Who doesn't love 'em?
I have never ever seen an ALPA memo like that. Well, except for two in 2006, and another in 2007. Those memos were pretty much identical except they said Comair where this says Pinnacle.

And yes, that got fun quick. Southern's get up early to have fun. We are all hosed but some are still splittin hairs with gunpowder in the background.
