So this is from the career page;

All new-hires guaranteed an interview at AA mainline. Pilots must complete at least 2,000 hours flight time with Eagle before they may interview. Interviews to begin once flowthrough Eagle pilots have had the opportunity to move to AA.

When will all of the flowthrough Eagle pilots move up to AA? I'm guessing you could hit 2,000 hours within 3 years. Will there still be flow ups around by then?

In all reality someone hired today would wait 5 years minimum for an interview, and be prepared for people to give you the I'll never happen blah blah. If they honor this it would be a long time before it materializes.

They have to first go through the 236 "numbered" guys, the infamous "824" then onto the "preferential hires" - basically anyone hired BEFORE October 2011. After all those people have been given an option to go to AA, those hired after October 2011 will get a chance to "Interview" at AA. I dont think there is anyone here who will actually wait around that long for that interview. They will already be a few years deep into some other major.

So its not really worth considering when trying to decide where to go.

The $10,000 sign on bonus rumor got my attention, but turned out to be just that, a rumor.

Good thing the minature schnauzer killed that thread!

It's actually not... Our union rep told me that the 10k bonus is real and that's what the union reps emailed between each other. Expect news soon

For reference on the guaranteed interviews. I'm an April 07' DOH.

I was told by one of the union reps that based on retirements an estimated time for me to go over is May 2021. Just fyi..

Something to keep in mind is they probably didn't account for anyone leaving for other majors.

You're right. I guess 2019 is more accurate.

It's fine if that supposed $10K bribe got your attention as long as you understand taxes will claim about 40% of that as unearned income, thus becoming a $500/month stipend for your first year.

That's peanuts in the scheme of things.

Nope. 25% will be withheld off the top and then at the end of the year, your tax liability will determine if you get anything else back. On 1st year regional FO salary, your tax rate should be 15%. You need to consider Medicare, SS and that crap, too, so let's call it 18%. Of course, each situation is unique.
