I was given 4 days notice! lol, but that's because someone was unable to attend. I was happy to jump thru hoops to get in since the next class that was available to me was a month (and about 45 numbers on the seniority list) later.

And from what I hear we have Captain's flying right seat and sitting arc for FO's, yet our staffing is just fine... This during the slow months?? I'm fairly new but it does sound like this summer could get ugly.

Every summer we are understaffed because it is cheaper to offer 150% or 200% than upgrade or hire. Every year they say that we got more block hours, more flying, more whatever, than we expected. This is the "new" normal. Get used to it. If they are so short sighted as to see that people are already getting hired allover the place (which they are) we are going to have a hard summer.

Ran into one of the pilot recruitment guys the other day. They are still interviewing, but no classes scheduled at this time (CRJ or ERJ). I guess they are still building up a pool in case classes do start soon. Who knows??
