Based on the FEB senority list we lost 12 on the CRJ side in JAN, and 10 of them were senior enough to be captains. That is a class worth of attrition in two months. We are NOT adaquately staffed for summer and more folks than I can count are hoping to be long gone before then.
If they don't hire and upgrade soon summer TLVs (average amount of credit you get on your schedule) will be back in the 100+ range like last summer. Have fun with that, folks.

Yup, 42 Delta owned 200s out of the 66 200s we traded for the 34 large RJs start going back this fall. Management said during that announcement that they would have more details later and no word yet. No word on how many of those 42 are at ASA and how many at Skywest, but both have halted hiring.
Over 20 sim instructors being sent back to the line next month, and all 40 Air Mekong pilots returning to the line due to the airline ceasing operations.

1. USAir, JetBlue, Spirit, Allegiant and a few others already hiring. United will be hiring and rumor of AA hiring as well this summer. Corporate gigs are also opening up.
2. The company can't see that far out. Just like we don't have a crystal ball for where to point the ship that is our individual careers, neither does the company. Plus they are more reactionary than precautionary.
3. The company has said several times it doesn't make good business sense to furlough unless the pilots won't be needed for more than 18 months. In the next 36 months, there will be more people leaving XJet (CRJ side) than there are pilots total at some smaller regionals. (Silver, CommutAir)

Come on man! Our union drew a line in the sand in negotiations. Management took their ball and went home. Now they're using scare tactics to scare people like YOU into pressuring the union! Those of us who have been here for a couple of contracts have seen this all before. "Possible" doesn't mean jack. The numbers just don't add up. Go to work, do your job, and quit believing everything you hear in recurrent or read on the interwebs!
