I agree with the "Captain Tony" here, we've seen this and many other similar things before. They couldn't furlough if they wanted to, this is all a joke. If I were to care, I would say drag out negotiations and lets all stay separate and on our current contract. If you're worried about it, look for another job because this is a normal event, management vs. everyone else. It never fails.

I don't buy into any furlough talk. We're running extremely thin on the ERJ side as far as RSV coverage. This Summer will be an absolute sh*t show and I'm not looking forward to it at all.

Skywest has stopped hiring as well so this situation maybe deeper than union issues

Look. It's as simple as this as far as "furloughs." The company has said many times that it is just a transfer of flying. At least 80 F.O.'s are transferring from the 200 to the 700 beginning March 1st. In addition, 12 to 14 of the 200's are moving to AE flying. Please stop trying to be Debbie Downer and let the chips fall as they may. XJET pays an entire division strictly for Crew Planning. Just because we are losing a few 200's in the near term doesn't mean we are screwed! By the way; why are we posting all this to the "Pool" forum. We need to revive the "Latest about XJET" board.

There's a big difference between temporarily stopping hiring, and furloughing. A year from now, they will be begging pilots to show up for class. There is no way they are going to furlough. Period. Too many people are about to knock down the emergency exit door. A year from now, they won't be able to staff this place.

And yes, this is most definitely going to be The Summer of Discontent.

CA Tony,

I wonder if this is going to be the case for the L-XJT side? What has me scratching my head is the attrition really starting to pick up, but not a peep of hiring or upgrading (erj)The really interesting thing is the ship has sailed if they wanted to have new hires and new CAs for summer. Im wondering what the fall block hrs are "supposed" to look like. I agree this is going to be a rough summer for both groups though.

Folks in the pool will soon need flotation devices. Things are eerily quiet.

Hang in there. At the rate we are losing captains, we will need a class soon!
