Foreigners? In MY regional?

It's more likely than you think...

Honest question to everyone who seems opposed to this. If they have all their paperwork in order and the right to work in the US, why don't they deserve the same job you do?

I don't think anybody suggested here that if an applicant has their paperwork in order (greencard) or is a naturalized citizen shouldn't have access to the job.

I think the concern was regarding foreign applicants coming over without the right to live and work in the US...

Aviation is no different than any career in terms of the hiring of expat workers, it is a matter of supply and demand and there are plenty of pilots available to cover the demand, there aren't enough doctors right now for example and in the US (according to a friend of mine that works in that field) there have been more work visas issued to doctors from other countries than any other time in history. So the question is simple really, Can the demand be met? If the answer is "yes" then it is unlikely that you will see work visas associated with job offers in the aviation industry.

as someone else on APC put it, you are talking to the most entitled generation of regional pilots in the history of the universe.....any competition for them is a bad thing.

Slow news day. Someone post a rumor about a couple of "foreign nationals" getting hired at some unnamed regional and suddenly it's "Summer of the Shark" here on APC.

It's a public forum and you have a username as an identity. What do you have to worry about? Don't identify yourself and no one will be able to figure out who you are and what you do. This isn't facebook dude, and anyone that posts themselves shotgunning beers on facebook profile pic and identifying as a pilot is plain flat out stupid.

Now, since you really want to know who I am. My name is Sully Sullenberger.

Get the point?

If you have the right to work here by all means come work! It's a fun job if you don't mind the crippling depression, loneliness, financial pressure, and terrible health aspects.

If Juan Pablo wants to fly at Mesa God help him he should fly at Mesa.

What ****es me off however is the fact that a brit can come over here and just about jump into the 121 world while I have no chance in hell of ever seeing the inside of a BA cockpit (or any of their regionals).

Just an example.

Should be a two-way street and an international marketplace for talent....yet it's not.

Competition is a good thing...it allows me to see just how much better I am at what I do.

For you it's good, but you aren't one of the entitled ones, judging from your posts.
