American to Shrink Regional Carrier
#31
They will furlough or send home those in class no, about 100-150 pilots, why, to scare the rest of the pilots. It is business dont take it personal that is how AMR/AAG does work.
You are correct that the flow will continue at a minimum of 20 a month until the 824 are gone then the rest are I believe at 25 per month. So you are correct the shrinkage will be fromthe top except those that bail for other jobs.

^^^^^^THIS!!
Please fellow Eaglers, do NOT go to the likes of PSA or Mesa. All you're doing is helping them add pilots to cover the cheaper flying awarded to them instead of us. If you must start over at another regional, go to one where their feed competes with AA...XJT for instance (even though they do a minimal amount of flying in DFW). I live in a PSA base but would gladly go back to instructing before helping out that operation fill seats.

All scare tactics.....
With either a yes or no vote, Eagle management had a plan already set in motion..
The fate of the company did not depend on a pilot making a few bucks more an hour ( or a few hundred more a month)... But that is what management would like you, and everyone not a pilot, to think
Stay strong

AE pilots took concessions a while ago, maybe 2 years? Can't remember. IOW, they are already working for less. The raises offered wouldn't even cover the standard COL/inflation rates, contract duration was excessive, etc. They dangled new shiney jets and a flow to AA.
It's not so much about wanting numbers and what's offered as it is the cheapening/degrading of the profession. All at a time when the parent/holdings company is making money hand over fist.
Tsquare said it best, the guys at the regionals voting just need to hang in there a little longer. If RAH goes "NO", it's gonna get better. Come fall when more hiring kicks in, it's gonna be awesome to watch.

Out of curiosity, if eagle / envoy were shutdown completely does that eliminate the requirement of AA to hire these pilots?
This could actually benefit AA if they don't have to hire the ex eagle pilots. They don't get employees with perceived. poor attitudes and a chips on their shoulders forced into their ranks.

I would contend we're just as capable and good natured as anyone else if given the opportunity.

Thanks. Typical management trying to make shareholders happy at the expense of the most critical asset: people.
I heard a saying once...try wielding a gun or a sword without a hand. Without the hands of humans, guns and swords are useless and the same applies to airplanes. A shame some "intelligent" people aren't intelligent enough to remember such truths.
