You are correct that the flow will continue at a minimum of 20 a month until the 824 are gone then the rest are I believe at 25 per month. So you are correct the shrinkage will be fromthe top except those that bail for other jobs.
They already furloughed 50 in 2012, just to not get them all back a few months later. Who are they going to scare, before they furloughs they have to flow more to AA. If they furlough 100 guys, not all of them will end up flying feed for AA, so AA would just end up getting further behind on the feed.

Please fellow Eaglers, do NOT go to the likes of PSA or Mesa. All you're doing is helping them add pilots to cover the cheaper flying awarded to them instead of us. If you must start over at another regional, go to one where their feed competes with AA...XJT for instance (even though they do a minimal amount of flying in DFW). I live in a PSA base but would gladly go back to instructing before helping out that operation fill seats.
Same here. I live in one of PSA's junior bases, and could hold it as a new hire. I used to have PSA on the back burner if things at EGL went awry. But since they took that last concessionary contract, there's no chance I would go there now... Which one of their bases do you live in? PM me.

All scare tactics.....

With either a yes or no vote, Eagle management had a plan already set in motion..

The fate of the company did not depend on a pilot making a few bucks more an hour ( or a few hundred more a month)... But that is what management would like you, and everyone not a pilot, to think

Stay strong

Inform the un-informed...

What was so bad about the contract that it was rejected? What numbers were the pilots hoping for and what was offered? Just looking for some basics, that's all...

Real big picture;

AE pilots took concessions a while ago, maybe 2 years? Can't remember. IOW, they are already working for less. The raises offered wouldn't even cover the standard COL/inflation rates, contract duration was excessive, etc. They dangled new shiney jets and a flow to AA.

It's not so much about wanting numbers and what's offered as it is the cheapening/degrading of the profession. All at a time when the parent/holdings company is making money hand over fist.

Tsquare said it best, the guys at the regionals voting just need to hang in there a little longer. If RAH goes "NO", it's gonna get better. Come fall when more hiring kicks in, it's gonna be awesome to watch.

Out of curiosity, if eagle / envoy were shutdown completely does that eliminate the requirement of AA to hire these pilots?

This could actually benefit AA if they don't have to hire the ex eagle pilots. They don't get employees with perceived. poor attitudes and a chips on their shoulders forced into their ranks.

I didn't realized we were perceived to have poor attitudes. I don't see many chips on shoulders around here either. I have friends at other regionals and we all seem to be about the same. We're all trying to keep our noses clean while we build time and apply to career airlines. I don't know your background but if you don't have any regional time I can see how you'd assume we have poor attitudes, keep in mind though guys have been stuck at the regional level far longer than just "paying dues", we're talking 13-20 years and not by choice for a lot of guys.

I would contend we're just as capable and good natured as anyone else if given the opportunity.

Thanks. Typical management trying to make shareholders happy at the expense of the most critical asset: people.

I heard a saying once...try wielding a gun or a sword without a hand. Without the hands of humans, guns and swords are useless and the same applies to airplanes. A shame some "intelligent" people aren't intelligent enough to remember such truths.
