APA/USAPA trying to recapture Scope?

It's more likely that Delta will be the first to begin bringing regional flying back in house, likely to start this year.
American on the other hand is not there yet. American's main concern is to keep regionals flying longer by consolidating the regional fleet. But in order for this to happen it is imperative that all the regional pilot groups allow 12/4.

Not by PSA pilot's logic. Everybody will upgrade in under two years, and this will continue forever. And if it doesn't........oh well, F it, screw everyone else, at least they got theirs.

This would actually be a step in the right direction. A 12 year cap on RJ captains would keep the necessary movement going. 12 years is more than enough time to find a real job and those that can't, should simply be let go at that point. Why should regional lifers be rewarded for their career failure at the expense of those just entering the industry?

When they finally drive the regionals out of business, and the domestic feed collapses, you will see them contracting out to startup turboprop and small jet operators to recover the feed. Like they did in the early 90s after the collapse of the 80s model of DC-9s doing <500 mile flights. What's old is new again.

The market will reset. All regionals have to do is raise pay by say 10 bucks an hour and they will have plenty of pilots. Still B scale rates. 50 seaters will go away, and 75 seaters will be renegotiated at a higher, but still cheaper than mainline, rate.
"Regionals" flying 1000 mile routes will NOT go away. Mainline won't get the routes. Prices will go up five bucks per leg, and there will still be a B scale. Everything is solved.
If price point is such a big deal that paying 3-4 bucks per flight hour by our customers is outrageous, they surely won't pay 8-10 bucks more for a mainline pilot.
