Say what you want RJ. PSA didn't not vote in that crap TA to undercut anyone. They did it to save their jobs which as you can tell from yesterday's news that it wasn't an idle threat. We had 49 aircraft before the TA. You're losing 47 in a 1.5 year period so yea PSA would've shut down in 1.5 years easily. Bet you guys would let us come sling gears for you then huh?

You know cause you've been dealing with him for years... And apparently you don't mind. I m sorry but we decided we didn't want to bend over that much. I, for one, couldn't afford it especially with better financial and stable opportunities elsewhere.

For the record, I don't jump seat, I don't travel on holidays, I live in base, I don't utilize the AA route structure to travel period as I can get anywhere I need to go on the LUS system. A jump seat war does me no harm at all. All a jump seat war does is hurt the pilots from ALL carriers who are forced to commute. I've seen more than one anxious Eagle pilot come up to ask for a ride with the nervous "I'm with Eagle" attitude clearly hoping one of these two guys has not been screwed by one of his "brothers" Maturity is not measured on a vote based on a decision you feel is best for your own personal reasons, job, and family. Call me selfish, but ensuring I can provide for my wife and kids comes before ensuring I do what is best for the outcome of negotiations at Eagle. What I will not do is leave anyone behind. I will gladly take a delay for ballast on the 200 to ensure every last person is able to get to work, and more importantly get home. Call PSA scabs (even though no one has crossed a pocket line so you may want to refresh on what a scab is) or scum all you want, but there are a lot of decent people here that would do the same for any pilot out there.

Yes we have been dealing with him. You learn the way management works and you adjust to save your job. Sometimes it's not what you want, but a small raise here was better than $275 a week on unemployment. I have a family and that wasn't an option for me. I'm truly sorry this is happening to Eagle (still can't get used to Envoy) but just like you said, you couldn't afford the TA offered to you. It all falls down to what is personally best for you and you have to make a decision based on your own needs. When dealing with the last TA here this risk/reward margins were more than I was comfortable with. We had 49 airplanes and 500 pilots. I personally was backed into a corner that was more than uncomfortable in regards to paying my mortgage and putting food on the table. You can't always get what you want so sometimes you have to settle and take what you need.

Isn't this kind of division exactly what airline management counts on in order to keep wages low and contracts poor?
How does denying some poor guy a ride to work, or a ride home, help anyone at all?

It doesn't, and typically the only guys who enforce it are the ones who live in base and don't have to worry about a ride to work. All they do in the end is screw some of their own pilots who utilize the other carrier as a way to work. It hurts their own guys just as much, but that is a little to deep for some people to understand.
