What I would do for a look at the books because it doesn't make sense to me unless DAL stands to make a ton of dough off said rate reset. As for the tax issue on the bonus yeah it's an up front hit, but at least for FOs like me when I do my taxes I'll be lumped into the appropriate bracket and likely see a lot of that cash back...at least I hope.

Anyways, this be an AWAC thread so back to the subject at hand...good luck to all you guys and hope AAG extends your contract with at least palatable terms.
I would be very surprised if the rate reset actually happens next year. SKW has clearly demonstrated they are willing to walk away from unprofitable flying, and DAL can't afford to park all the 200s with fuel prices this low. Nobody other than SKW Inc. has the pilots to operate these a/c. It's just a matter of time, and they are going to get to name their price.

Chip Childs has DAL in checkmate.

thats incorrect, Delta CAN afford to do it and is actively looking for reasons to park those planes.

I bet RA will still try. Then SKW can threaten to walk away and see if RA calls the bluff. SKW may even serve to do better just focusing on flying with their AAG and UAL partners if Delta gives crappy terms. Then of course there is the question of the fate of ASA/XJT. Now I am not singling you out per se because the entire regional industry has not ever seen this kind of volatility. Everyones fate is questionable. We could see shutdowns, more mergers, etc. It is a crap show that is quickly turning into a crap storm. DAL has had to adjust their plans for 9E several times already. Today's plan won't work tomorrow. Even the 'growth' regionals right now I can see the music stopping fast when it comes to movement when people think they missed a quick upgrade or when there are no more pilots to poach from other regionals. 2015 is going to be an interesting year for all, and hopefully all of us have either moved to better things or can still stand our ground where we are in the aftermath.

Then why did RA say "i under estimated the amount of 50 seat flying we needed". Its proven by them trying to get someone to take on the flying...

Exactly. Delta isn't exactly strapped for cash right now. They hold every card, not your precious Chip Childs.

Ok. Well. Since you stated it's incorrect, then I guess that makes it a fact!

717s don't make money on RJ routes with gas this cheap. Prove me wrong.

Can you expand upon this a little bit? After all you've asked to be proven wrong, but haven't provided any information to prove you "right", either...

just take a look at the 717 routes....just wait until we have all of the 717's not just half the fleet.

mainline is growing domestically as we shift the flying back to mainline. Its not just the 717 either, all the planes up to and including the 757 are increasing domestic flying to cover previous RJ routes.

as far as proving you wrong, tbh i dont really care if you believe me or not, you'll see on your own

[sorry if it was too soon 😜]

But seriously though, there's a lot of negativity toward 9e on here, but it's all coming from a dozen or so very outspoken bitter individuals, some of whom don't even work here anymore. If you're thinking of applying, don't let them get to you. Apply, interview, and make up your own mind.
+1!!!!!!!!
