What does anyone get 3rd year?

Default AWAC to fly for DL???

(First year pay)x75 hour guarantee x 12 months + $15000. Same for second year pay.

[sorry if it was too soon 😜]

But seriously though, there's a lot of negativity toward 9e on here, but it's all coming from a dozen or so very outspoken bitter individuals, some of whom don't even work here anymore. If you're thinking of applying, don't let them get to you. Apply, interview, and make up your own mind.

Third year is standard pay (no bonus), at least for now. Two years is an eternity in this industry and by 2017 any number of things could change here, or wherever you are now. I believe our contract is amendable in 17 or 18, so there's that, but I suspect "market forces" will necessitate something before that. And no, it will not be a shutdown.

Talking about the regional industry three years from now is a complete guess. As was noted, two years is an eternity in this market, and three years is even crazier to conjecture about.

Point is you don't get jack 3rd year. You get a pay cut without any more bonus. The new FO today might still be an FO in 3 years. Something for aspiring FO's to think about when applying.

Yeah. The EtD was a "sure thing' too, right? DAL will renege on this just like they do everything else. Any wholly owned DAL regional will always be an abused spouse.

And even if you do get the bonuses paid out with all the strings that are attached, Uncle Sam is still going to get 40%. If DAL actually cared about you, they would have rolled those bonuses into the pay scales. But they don't. "It's a Trap!!!"

Reading "2/3 years is an eternity in this business", while not necessarily incorrect, almost feels like it could be used as a justification for 12/4 pay caps in this context.

What regional is offering increased contractual rates to attract pilots right now? Sounds like SKW is fighting that tooth and nail too-with the management prefferrinf to park planes than pay more per contract. I'm not sure if part of this is to prevent mainline pilots from getting more leverage to increase their pay...

PS The ONLY people believed in the ETD were management. Pilots from any carrier saw that as a disaster.

It's not rolled into 9E's pay rates for the sole reason of rate resetting you guys and SKW. That's been a huge part of 9E's continued existence. My quandary is that with all the money DAL is still throwing into 9E when is the reward of a rate reset nullified by investment in this shrinking airline? What I would do for a look at the books because it doesn't make sense to me unless DAL stands to make a ton of dough off said rate reset. As for the tax issue on the bonus yeah it's an up front hit, but at least for FOs like me when I do my taxes I'll be lumped into the appropriate bracket and likely see a lot of that cash back...at least I hope.

Anyways, this be an AWAC thread so back to the subject at hand...good luck to all you guys and hope AAG extends your contract with at least palatable terms.

I think this logic is spot on. It is possible that with upcoming major hiring the majors overall want the regionals to become revolving doors while having their top 20% lifers capped to be 'profitable'. In a perfect world, after this volatility and consolidation among regionals a new FO should never see 4th year pay and most captains would be out before 8 years. That makes a 12/4 pay cap justifiable for management and they will try and sell it to ALL remaining regionals that don't have it...including AWAC at some point in theory.
