Wheels falling off at RAH

Your reality is a dream. I would have had no problem writing you up for unsafe operation if you ignored my safety related input when I was an FO. I don't really care if you try to "pull rank." Airline rank is meaningless. Do something unsafe and I would have absolutely taken the airplane from you.
Bla,bla, bla you aren't taking anything except orders, you are the help, plain and simple. If you get written up for insubordination, good luck at getting hired anywhere except Chili's. Internet tough boy!
Now go check the fuel door or generate another release!

Now if he does take the controls, he'd better be darn sure he's right.

This isn't really that tough of a room, lots of very thin skin and man boy feelings that get damaged with little friction. Now F/I was a tough room, but alas it's a ghost town thanks to the Genny.

Well it pains me to somewhat agree with breezy, but if an FO took over because the a captain did something unsafe, it wouldn't be insubordination. That being said, rarely does someone do something unsafe on purpose, and a good FO knows how to tactfully alert the captain of a developing unsafe situation.

CCB, you aren't an officer in the military and the FO is not your subordinate. Plus, officers in the military very rarely rarely "give orders." At my airline, if you would have "ordered" me to get the release when I was an FO, I would've told you to pound sand and there would be zero repercussions.

Look up Mitigated Speech and its role in airline crashes. A first officer's job isn't to make the captain feel good. If he's doing something unsafe, you should use plain and blunt language to make him aware. If he doesn't correct it after two warnings, the FO should take the airplane.
