RAH will do fine, they can always add an extra 5k to the bonus so they don't have to pay the rest of the pilots! They can get all the pilots they want just by tweaking the bonus a little.

Didn't the union agree to allow the bonus so you would have more time available to work on that contract without that feeling of being rushed?

We're getting closer, but as RAHlifer stated, we haven't touched the hardest sections like compensation. I think they've got another month of work ahead of them before a TA is reached, but nobody really knows for sure. While it appears the pace has slowed down in the last week or two, it is to be expected as we get into the meaningful parts of the contract.

I'm expecting Skywest plus 5-10% if they want to get serious about restaffing this airline.

That ship sailed back when we were under the local 747's stewardship. We didn't fight it back then and now there's nothing to grieve

I used to think a good contract would be able to help the future of RAH, but that will take a very long time and some drastic changes in the regional industry dynamic to allow a positive change to occur over there.

A good contract might attract a few guys here and there, but when so many other regional's are offering flow or preferential interviews to major airlines or actually having a good centralized based structure, there really are not many reasons I can see a flood of people going to RAH.

I don't think it will really help slow attrition either. In reality it would only make the waiting time for a job offer at a major more bearable. For those that spent so many years being punished and treated like liabilities instead of assets, no contract or pay rate that RAH can offer should be good enough to WANT to stick around.

It also doesn't help the cause that BB was recently quoted saying he doesn't want pilots with more than 7 years longevity because of the cost. I have no idea how the man can ever get a word out considering his foot never leaves his mouth.

The only thing that can save RJET is Bedford being escorted out of the building.

...and that may not even be enough.

As for RAH, market planning shows only 41 (of 47) AA birds flying for June. Looks to me like 6 airplanes idle for the summer. Unless it gets worse in July/August and they pull more planes out of service.

In my humble opinion, if we can survive the summer without losing a code share, there is a chance mgmt can right the ship with a new contract.
So, are you saying that 6 of those brand-new American 175s are going to be just parked for the whole summer? WOW!!!

Way to shoot for the stars there. Skywest plus 10%? Why not AWAC plus 10%?

So $26.40 for new hires (skywest+10%)............... should solve all their staffing problems, or not.
