I was wondering about that because they do EWR-CLE and the Q does EWR-IAD. Perhaps this is because traditionally when these were done, they were a mix of CAL/UAL bases, for example, a legacy UAL regional could fly to EWR when it was a legacy CAL hub and so on, and the flying continues even though all the planes have the same paint on them now.

I was also under that impression, but Shuttle does a LOT of hub to hub. UAL jumpseaters have told me that the prohibition of which you speak was either a company proposal that was made during contract negotiations which didn't make it into the final deal, or might be part of an allowed percentage.

I found it a little amusing that a UAL executive actually used EWR-IAH (a route that Shuttle regularly flies) as an example of the type of domestic route UAL plans to fly with their 777-200s.

Some aplicants will go almost anywhere so long as they can fly jets and kickstart their airline career.
I would hardly call republic's training "high quality". It is the Flight Safety mantra of train to the checkride unless something has changed recently.

Yes they still use FlightSafety.

Republic's pilots will probably get a TA that is slightly better than the one they gots last year. BB is counting on the fact that the lifers at the public will vote for it because the situation is dire. Think a la Envoy

Interesting. I wonder if they'll put it to a vote by the end of this month, given how dire things are over there.

If it sucks, it will just get voted down again. No one I have flown with is going to jump to a 'yes' vote quickly. Dire situation or not, this pilot group has proven it will not accept a crappy TA. Mainly because it has to last another 12 years... The sentiment lately has been, "it's what we want, or this place is done for and we don't care".

Too many options for folks nowadays (regionals, LCC, major, corporate, cargo) to really want to sacrifice for this company when it has proven time and time again to not care about the employees.

I think we will see a substantial increase in new hire signing before we see a TA. They also received reduction in flight hours from the code shares for the summer, so they can make it to next summer.

And Republic and Shuttle America combined still lead the league or are in the top 3 almost everyday in cancellations. It will only get worse as the lack of a contract drags on and on and other regionals continue to hirie street captains. Give me one reason why a first officer who's upgrade is a couple of years away would stay at RAH.

Well I would hope you guys would use Envoy's contract as the bottom line and not go below that.
