How is your contract negotiations going? Eagle guy here, and I'm hearing you all are looking at some good improvements. All the best and stand strong.

So,YOU are a part of the problem ! Hey,here's an idea for the next regional contract :

1.You agree to upgrade at the first offer, regardless of base/equipment.

2.Upon serving as PIC for 1,000 hours, your employment will be terminated.Period.No whining about who's hiring, can't get an interview, etc, you are DONE.Or maybe stay on at 2nd year pay from then on.Lifer problem solved !

You also agree to retire at age 60,so as not to hold up the career progression of others. No whining about having your pension turned over the the PBGC at age 55,kids in college,ex-wife,etc.You had your turn, now move on.What do you say, deal ?

I think you guys maybe be looking at this wrong.BB knows that when the retirements happen en mass at the majors, pilots will leave. He also knows (as does every other regional CEO) that they have the keys to the kingdom ! The best (not ONLY) way to The Big Show is via a regional.Where else you gonna build time that fast ? When the movement begins in earnest, pilots will GLADLY work for those wages/work rules, because, hey, they only have to put up with it for a little while ! BB and his ilk know this, they are banking on it.To them, this "shortage" is a minor hiccup.Where there hiring bonuses at regionals circa 1998-2000 ?

Did I say I wasn't? I never said it was solely one particular group or segments' fault. If you are indeed a regional lifer, and I don't take that term as demeaning or insulting, so be it. If you're 50-55, near the very top of a list, I don't blame you for stayin & not giving up that QOL.

What I AM saying is don't blame it ALL on the young guys, accepting low pay (that senior guys voted in ). Everyone has had a hand in this...it is what it is. But now that there's a changing of the guard, let's let all that go, band together, and stand strong for better working conditions.

"Senior guys voted in" ? Do senior pilots have magical "Super Votes" ? The newest noob has a vote that counts as much as the #1 on the seniority list.Actually,in PSA's case, the new contract was probably passed because of junior pilots. If you're 24 a flow-through has more value than to a 50 year old.

Thanks for the support. We've yet to see anything concrete in regards to what's actually in the TA. The E-board will get it this week and then take a final vote on it. If it passes, we'll finally get to see it and then have a few weeks of road shows and then a 30 day voting period. Until then, it's all speculation as to what's in it.
