Quote: A few Q new hires have told me they were promised this arrangement. So either they are going to be really disappointed in two years, or this is some unannounced thing.
I feel sorry for those guys/gals...

Actually I don't. There is plenty of information regarding the modus operandi at RAH.

They will be disappointed. But the company does not care. They try to keep their pilots between food stamp wages / mental breakdowns. It's a fine line they toy around with. Everything here always goes towards the company's favor. Once you are on property, they really don't care about you. You are worth more to them brand new, wet behind the ears. A lot of new guys come here with the right attitude. They try to do their job the best they can. They try to help the company (knowingly and unknowingly). After about a year on property, you will see them around, very disappointed and unwilling to bend over anymore.

RAH motto: Fly it and grieve. Even if it is illegal, unsafe, and especially against the CBA. How they get away with memos that clearly try to push pilots to move the metal is beyond me.

Any word yet on the arbitration matter for the Q400? If not, any idea on when it might be?

Which one? The per seat pay or the 2 year seat lock for CA?

I dont think they are in a rush for either.

Quote: All the junior most guys in my Republic (YX) E-170 class got PIT even though it wasn't their first or second choice. It will depend on your age. Older guys got their first choice (about half the class)

HTHs
I know it's only been about a month and a half since this response was posted, but is it still valid info about PIT and being able to hold a line relatively quickly? Just got the 170 for Republic with a 4/14 class date and would like to get PIT out of training if I can. I'm not sure if I'll be the oldest guy in class, but I'm 99.9% sure that I won't be the youngest. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

PIT is by far the most junior 170 base. Recent new hires have been getting lines there within 1-2 months of finishing IOE. Movement in PIT has mostly been from new hires being added.

No idea if they will continue to send new hires there, but so far this year, they have been.

Is ORD possible out of training?

ORD is most likely impossible out of training. All the American 175's are going to PIT because there is no room for them in ORD. So with no growth and a list of FO's bidding for ORD, I would say 8-12months.

Not sure where the other information was coming from, but yes, ORD is possible out of training. The new aircraft are being spread around the system and eventually a new base will be announced here shortly. Most likely NY or MIA is what we're hearing.

Do you think they'll send the new hires to the new base first? I'd like to get PIT right out of training next month if possible. Not sure what the normal practice is at the regionals regarding new bases. Do they typically send the new hires there till the more senior ones want to bid it?
